The witness went fishing before sunrise and heard a loud groan-growl from across the road that frightened him. After calming down elsewhere, he drove back, noticed paired trails in dew leading into oak woods, and followed them to a tree where a tall hair-covered biped stepped out. The two stared at each other, the creature appeared amused then agitated, building to a vocal display and urinating. Believing he was about to be killed, the witness fired a handgun into its chest at close range; the creature bled from the wound and mouth, stood, and climbed down a bluff toward water, after which the witness left and later found the road closed.

About six feet from an oak tree a tall hair-covered biped stepped out, exchanged prolonged looks, then appeared to work itself into an agitated vocalizing state while urinating. The witness fired at close range into its chest, saw heavy bleeding from the wound and mouth, and watched it clutch its chest, stand, and disappear over a bluff toward the water.

The witness and a companion were in an open school field at dusk when the witness noticed a large shadowy figure across the field. The figure then ran silently and very fast directly toward them, appearing as a huge reddish-brown shaggy man/ape-like creature. The witness shouted to run and both fled through a neighboring yard to the witness's home. A return search the next day found nothing.

Two young family members went to the barn after dark to check animals and one touched fur in the dark and then saw a tall furry biped with red eyes. The creature followed as they left the barn without harming them. An older relative then confronted it with a shotgun, fired in the air, and it ran into the woods making a noise.

The figure paused by a fence to look toward the witness, then lifted a smaller hair-covered figure from the weeds onto its hip. It then stepped over a barbed-wire fence and walked unhurried into the woods.

The witness was driving on a dirt road near Prescott at dusk when a large ape-like animal appeared moving parallel to the road just inside the tree line. The witness braked to a stop and watched it walk through a gap in the trees about 100 meters away for about 10 seconds before it disappeared into the forest. The animal was described as tall, very muscular and reddish-brown with longer arm hair and little or no neck, and it never looked toward the car.

The witness was camping with other groups and took a nighttime walk on a dirt road after being unable to sleep. About 200 yards from camp a large grey entity emerged from the roadside 10-15 feet ahead, turned to face the witness, and they made eye contact for a few seconds. They watched it in the headlights as it moved backward into the road, looked at them, then squatted and leaped off the road into a ravine. A torn bag of garbage was found where it had been kneeling.

They drove away over the bridge while the figure pursued briefly before breaking off at the hardtop road and returning to the forest. In spring 1981 the witness and a companion were stopped in a car on a rural road at night with headlights on. A very large gray-haired bipedal creature emerged from bushes about 15 yards ahead, paused to look at them, then crossed the road and continued up a hill into the woods. The companion locked the doors and did not want to follow on foot.

The animal knocked the dog down, emitted a ticking sound and a musky odor, then walked into the woods where the witness lost sight of it while wearing waders. The witness later found the dog with blood on it and reported seeing a taped-off police search at the site.
