Two people driving in a snowy forested area found large bare footprints about 18 inches long along the road. After parking and making loud knocks with logs, they heard a distant bark, human-like whistling from multiple directions, and later fast bipedal footsteps. A companion reported seeing something cross the road during the footsteps and hearing a branch break nearby. Feeling they were being approached, both left the area around 12:30.

After splitting up to search a dense thicket at dusk, the group reunited and heard a loud sustained scream from close range at head height. They left quickly without acting afraid and were paralleled to their trucks by something noisy breaking branches. Both adult hunters later confirmed they heard it matching their pace.

After the fire died the witness lay in the tent and heard loud breathing approach, stop behind the tent blocking moonlight, shuffle the cooler, then sniff at his head. He yelled and hit the tent, after which it urinated on the tent, hollered loudly and left breaking and twisting high pine branches. Next morning he found large compressed impressions and damaged branches.

While deer hunting from a tree stand in the morning, the witness was approached by a companion who was pale and frightened and said something had stalked him aggressively and emitted a terrifying yell. The two investigated together and reported finding trees snapped off high above the ground and deep elongated impressions in dry ground, which they followed for two miles into dense foliage. The witness adds that he was stalked himself the next day.

Four people in a house heard very loud deep shrieks from beyond the backyard tree line at night. Two of them went onto the patio with a rifle and flashlight; when the light was pointed at the treeline the shrieks stopped and something was heard moving away through the woods while grunting deeply. The next day the witness followed a wide trail of fresh tree damage through the woods for about two hours.
"Tree stump" jumps up and runs away
The witness was hiking with family on a trail near their campsite at midday. He noticed a stump-like shape in a sunlit area that suddenly stood and ran away bipedally for about 100 yards. His family did not see it. He reported it to a park worker and later returned to find large tracks and disturbed wood.

The guest and four friends were climbing a forested mountainside on an old logging road to find a rumored abandoned cabin. They heard branches breaking and being struck against trees, vegetation thrashing, and strange vocalizations. They shouted threats thinking it might be people, but became convinced it was neither people nor normal animals. He later returned alone and with others but the activity never repeated.

The witness regularly walked a wooded trail near office buildings during lunch. One afternoon in May 1999 the witness found a young tree freshly snapped off high up and laid across the trail to block it, with no sign of sawing, wind, or vehicle contact. The witness showed the scene to a coworker the next day and cleared the trail, and later wondered whether the damage could be related to Bigfoot. No creature was seen and no footprints or hair were checked.

A family reports seeing an unidentified tall biped around their rural home over four years, usually at night. The creature is described as 7 to 9 feet tall, walking upright with a slight hunch and running too fast to follow. While fishing, the witness noticed a very foul odor, then heard sounds like something striking a tree, followed by a high-pitched howling/scream-like sound and more tree-striking sounds. Feeling watched and unnerved, the witness left the area, and on the trail out noticed fresh broken branches on a pine tree.

An investigator spent the morning searching fields, a cemetery, and surrounding woods after hearing about a recent local sighting. Rain had washed away possible tracks and the ground was hard, so no footprints were found. In the woods at the cemetery edge the investigator found a fresh snapped sapling and photographed it. The investigator also spoke with nearby residents, including a child who relayed a mother's nighttime driveway encounter, but no creature was seen during the visit.

The witness and a companion camped in Wayne National Forest over a holiday weekend. After mimicking animal sounds in the evening, the witness stayed awake through the night hearing crashes, footsteps, grunts and mimicking speech, and saw eye shine high off the ground. In the morning the pair found a snapped tree, strong odor, widely spaced ground marks and a five-toed partial print, which the witness attributed to a large visitor.

While on night patrol, the witness responded to a companion's report of something standing by trees behind a building and shone a spotlight into the woods. A very large upright hairy creature holding a branch was seen, which then dropped the branch, looked back with red eyeshine, screamed, and ran away with a strong odor left behind. The witnesses later found a large pine branch torn from about nine feet up.

The teenage volunteer and his younger cousin were biking and then walking a dense trail toward a waterfall when they smelled decay and heard rustling. A reddish-brown hairy arm reached through thick brush very close to the witness and snapped off a limb, showing a human-like hand. Both fled immediately, later told the foreman, and returned the next day to recover the bikes but found no tracks due to rocky ground.

During the night two who were sleeping heard noises and saw a tall figure leaning from the treeline, followed by louder crashing movement circling the camp. When they returned in the morning to collect belongings they heard a loud wavering scream and fled, later noting broken limbs in the area.

One shone a light and threw the flashlight toward it, and both were left badly shaken in their truck. One has since refused to return to that area.

Three people camping at night heard loud crashing, howling, hooting and screaming sounds circling their camp and then moving up a neighboring hill until gone. The owls they had been calling to fell silent for the rest of the night. The next morning they found large human-like footprints in mud around the camp and broken tree limbs.
