Three people camping at night heard loud crashing, howling, hooting and screaming sounds circling their camp and then moving up a neighboring hill until gone. The owls they had been calling to fell silent for the rest of the night. The next morning they found large human-like footprints in mud around the camp and broken tree limbs.

The group contacted the state game commission, which said the sounds were a mountain lion.
