The witness and a companion had made camp for the night off a trail. While standing on the trail smoking, the witness saw a large dark upright form that was first mistaken for a person on a bicycle. After calling to the companion and looking back, the witness saw it move quickly into the woods on two legs. No trace was found the next day.

The witness was staying alone in a trailer and went uphill to check what triggered a house motion light. He reports seeing a giant upright human-like silhouette near the house that made a loud howl/scream/growl directed at him before turning toward the forest. Two companions parked a motorcycle on a dirt road late at night and walked toward a nearby residence when they heard loud heavy footsteps and brush crashing approaching from a swampy area. They ran back to the motorcycle and fled as the sounds and heavy breathing closed in. As they drove away, one rider looked back and saw a very large, wide, dark hairy figure leap onto the road, land on all fours, then stand erect and grunt. The figure was silhouetted in bright moonlight, preventing detail of face or hands, and was estimated at about seven feet tall.
Dog walker reports being paralled at night along dirt road near Sunrise Lake
The witness was walking a dog along a dirt road beside woods at night when a tall bipedal silhouette with orange-ish eyes was seen at the treeline. The figure paralleled the witness, stopping when the witness stopped, and was still visible across the road after the witness ran home. A relative looked but saw nothing, and no trace was found the next day.

While alone in his third-floor dorm room at night, the witness felt intense cold and saw the window go completely black before the black rose and light returned. Friends later posed for a photo in front of the same window, and when developed it showed a dark outline of a man in a raincoat and brim hat with glowing eyes holding a key beside the witness.

The witness had been retrieving items from a storage shed with friends and stayed behind to latch the door, then hurried to catch up. Hearing rustling leaves, he stopped and saw a large dark hairy figure about 15 feet away on the other side of a chain-link fence. He watched for about 30-45 seconds, hearing heavy breathing and an intermittent deep growl, then slowly walked away out of fear.

The witness was crouched in bushes beside a road near a baseball field while playing a nighttime search game at a mountain camp. A very tall, muscular, hair-covered figure emerged from bushes near third base, paused and crouched as children walked past on the road, then crossed the field in seconds and entered the woods. The witness watched in moonlight from near first base and afterward returned to the cafeteria.

After a late work shift, the witness was riding in a van with coworkers on a rural road at night. In the headlights the witness saw a tall, thin dark figure cross the road and enter roadside woods, moving in an unfamiliar gliding manner that first caused fear. Another woman in the van confirmed she was watching the same spot and shared the fear reaction, and both later described wonder at seeing something unfamiliar.

The guest was driving his Jeep at night near his hunting spot when a deer bolted across the road. A huge black hairy creature launched off a ridge and chased the deer on all fours across the road into a valley. As the deer neared the treeline, the guest saw the outline of a second, larger creature standing upright as if waiting in ambush.

Two boys camping on a wooded ridge left their tent in the early morning and noticed a large bipedal shape moving in nearby trees. They watched it stand and observe them from about 30 feet away but could only discern a dark, fur-covered outline in low light. Frightened, they returned to the tent. Around dawn they heard a strange howling from down the ridge that did not sound like a dog or coyote.

The witness was looking for rocks in a forested area in the early morning and returned to the parked car to find the windshield wipers flipped outward. The witness then noticed a dark crouched mass at the tree line first taken for a bear. After getting into the car and slamming the door, the witness saw the figure stand about 7-8 feet tall and run away over a rock mound, then drove away.

The witness was sleeping alone on a rock ledge above a drainage when she heard loud repetitive whooping and howling from far below. The source moved rapidly uphill, climbed a steep cliff to the ledge, and ran past her toward the peak above, pausing briefly to look toward her. It then vocalized from the top of the peak until near sunrise, and she left the area at first light.
Couple has early evening encounter at home near Forsyth
Late one summer evening in 1998, a couple lying in bed in their trailer heard repeated loud screams and their dogs became highly agitated. The husband went outside with a flashlight and saw red-orange eyeshine well above normal human face height, then a tall upright shadow running toward the southwest. No further screams occurred and the dogs stayed agitated for 10-15 minutes. The couple decided not to call emergency services.
Evening encounter by backpacker in Hoosier National Forest
The witness was backpacking alone and set up camp above a ravine in the evening. After hearing rustling below, the witness used a flashlight and saw a tall dark-haired bipedal figure hiding behind trees about 40 feet away. The figure moved to another tree while being watched for 2-3 minutes, then ran down the creek out of sight. The witness remained by the fire until daylight and found no prints in the morning.

The witness and family were playing ping-pong in the walk-out basement when the witness let the dog into the backyard. The dog barked and backed away from the neighbor's fence line, where the witness saw the moonlit silhouette of a tall figure's head above the fence. After watching briefly, the witness saw the figure duck, turn toward a ravine, and leave silently. The witness later interpreted the figure as possibly Bigfoot based on its height relative to the fence.
Memory told of a late night close encounter from a parked vehicle outside Gatlinburg
The witness and a companion were parked in a truck at a mountain road landing late at night and watched a wild boar rooting in snow. After the boar fled, an upright figure appeared at the tree line, stood over the boar's spot, and was then illuminated by high beams. The figure blocked the light, showed glowing eyes, grunted, crossed the road in three strides, grabbed a sapling and disappeared uphill, leaving a strong odor.

The witness was deer hunting from a familiar tree stand and had been there about two hours when loud deep breathing, snorts and bellows were directed at them from nearby. The witness caught only a brief glimpse of a tall upright shadow moving swiftly but could not get a clear view through the scope and did not fire. The source of the sounds then left very loudly, and the witness was too frightened to immediately check for tracks.
Hunter has possible encounter near Huntington Reservoir
Before sunrise during deer shotgun season, the witness sat against a tree near a damaged bridge and dozed off. After hearing a twig snap, he saw a tall dark figure walking with long strides along a trail and crossing the washed-out bridge without breaking stride. He first assumed it was another hunter, but later realized no other hunters were present and the figure wore no orange.

Late at night the witness and a companion were driving north when they noticed a very large, dark, tall figure standing motionless on the side of the road facing east. The outline stood out in the darkness and its eyes reflected a white/silvery light. Both occupants were shocked and spoke little about it afterward.
