Possible vocalization 4 miles north of Pawling, heard from Appalachian Trail
The witness was hiking alone at night on the Appalachian Trail on the return trip down Corbin Hill. Around 9pm the witness heard a single loud 15-second vocalization that began low as a howl and rose higher as a scream. The witness compared it to a deeper gibbon call and said it did not sound like an owl or coyote. No visual contact or further vocalizations were reported, and the witness stated they could not confirm the source.
Tree break in New York (2017)
The witness and a companion spent three days fishing and camping at a remote lake. On calm nights trees fell near camp, and each dawn they heard rhythmic wood-on-wood pounding for nearly an hour. They saw a dark partial figure behind a lakeshore pine, heard a long piercing scream with fast hillside movement, heard distant talk-like sounds and short screams, and found a single large human-like footprint in mud on the way out. They also saw an orange light over the lake that split into smaller lights, followed later by jets overhead.

The witness and his brother were coyote hunting at night from a blind with an electronic call. They heard owl-like hooting from nearby that shifted into loud monkey-like screaming, followed by loud bipedal running directly behind the blind. They could not see anything with night vision and the sounds stopped abruptly, after which they left for the truck.
Scream near Saranac Lake, New York (2014)
About a year later the guest was awake late at night in a bedroom with a partly open window. A loud two-toned scream from near the driveway shook the room and was answered from farther away, terrifying the guest who fled to get a parent. The parent attributed the sound to foxes, but the guest later felt the sound matched a vocalization heard on the podcast.

The witness and a companion were sitting outside the companion's house at night when they heard a scream from a nearby swamp. Shortly after they heard a large animal breaking branches in woods on their side of the road. After owls called behind the house, an unseen object coming from the woods landed in the yard behind them.
Two fishermen frightened after dark on Lake Kanawauke
The witness and a companion were in a boat heading toward shore at night when they heard splashes, smelled a foul wet-animal odor, and saw shoreline vegetation shaking violently. A large rock was thrown from shore toward them and landed near the boat. When they shone a flashlight toward shore they saw a large dark human-shaped figure with red glowing eyes partly obscured by vegetation, then yelled and banged oars before retreating to a safer distance and hearing a loud scream or roar as they loaded the boat and left.

The witness and a companion were on a multi-day backcountry hike and stopped at dusk near a river to find shelter. They heard an extremely loud prolonged scream from across the water followed by large rocks splashing near them. As they continued hiking, they heard more splashes, sensed something paralleling them, and heard a large animal cross the river and run into the woods.

The witness was camping with family by a pond on the property when a very loud roar or scream was heard from a couple hundred feet away. Frogs and insects went silent, and a large splash like a stone was heard in the pond. The group left in the middle of the night and never camped there again.
02/15/04 Rensselaer County, NY: Vocalizations, with Tracks Found the Next Day
Late at night a resident went onto the porch after the outside dog became highly agitated and heard continuous loud shrieking screams, which the spouse also heard. The next morning footprints were found in deep snow leading across a field toward the forest with long strides, and a second set was reported to join the first in the woods. Photographs of the tracks were said to have been taken.

The witness and a family member were on their home porch in the early morning when a loud commotion broke out on the hill beside the house. They heard a series of loud screams unlike any known animal, followed by something large running through the woods and breaking branches. Both were shaken, and a next-day search of the hard, gravelly ground found no tracks.

The witness and his wife had gone to bed at their seasonal camp when the witness, who stayed awake, heard cycles of loud screams. The screams sounded first from a distance, then very close on the property, then again from a distance at a third location, each cycle consisting of several evenly spaced wails. The sounds were described as loud, female-like and frightening, with no accompanying movement noises, and the wife awoke during the close cycle.
Howls heard at night near home outside Guilderland
The witness was indoors in the evening when distant howls were heard behind the house. About an hour later a very loud screaming howl was heard from just outside an open but blind-covered window. The witness felt paralyzed with fear and did not look out. Afterwards a relative's dog was found cowering in a corner having defecated, and it stayed hidden the rest of the night.

Two companions grouse hunting in a wooded gorge heard loud screaming-growl vocalizations from about 30 yards away in dense cover. The source moved around them with audible footsteps in snow and breaking branches, seeming to flank them and get behind them. After several minutes they left the area quickly while looking back and did not return.

A couple left the trail to take photos by a creek. They heard loud deep roaring, scream-like and growl-like vocalizations approaching from across the creek, along with large branches breaking, and believed something was circling them. After the sounds stopped they felt watched, fled down the trail, and heard a large animal tracking them along the creek.

The witness and his wife left the trail by a creek to take photos. They heard a very loud deep roaring and screaming vocalization approaching from across the creek, repeated several times, with breaking branches as it circled and then followed them as they fled. Frightened, they gathered their belongings and ran back down the trail while the animal tracked them from alongside the creek.
Camper hears strange screams at Indian Lake
The witness was camping on the south side of Lewey Lake late in the evening when loud, unfamiliar screams were heard coming from across the lake. The cries did not match any known local wildlife or campers in the area. The witness later compared the sound to scream recordings associated with Bigfoot and found it very similar.
Hunter hears odd clicking noises while scouting
The witness hiked to a deer stand while hearing repeated groups of clicking sounds for about 45 minutes but could not locate the source on the ridge. While walking back out of the woods, the witness heard something large approach and stop behind them. The unseen source then made a very loud close grunt and, after the witness chambered a round, a loud guttural scream/grunt. The witness never saw the source.
Possible scream/howl heard near residence in Van Etten
In late summer or early fall 1997 around 10pm, the witness and the mother sat quietly on a relative's back deck watching stars in darkness. A strange vocalization lasting about five seconds came from 20 to 30 feet down the yard, then repeated seconds later from closer. The witness tried to turn on a light and searched the yard with a flashlight but saw nothing, and both went inside. No trace was found when checked the next day.
Two young boys experience powerful, high-pitched vocalization
When the witness was about 10, he and a companion were shooting BB guns at fish in a pond on family land and then fired into a hedgerow. Immediately something unseen about 10 feet into the brush produced loud screaming and howling vocalizations and violently shook vegetation before moving rapidly toward the forest while continuing to vocalize. The boys fled to the house.
Encounter with Juvenile Creature
In 1979 the witness had moved ahead of a hiking group in the Adirondacks to watch beavers and was walking back to the main trail. Something flushed from thick brush ran diagonally toward the witness on the trail, pounding loudly and wailing like a woman screaming, and was seen partially as a fast, upright furry figure about four and a half feet tall. The witness initially assumed a bear cub but later doubted that because it ran upright for about 150 feet and the vocalization resembled sounds associated with Bigfoot reports.
