The impact caused major front-end damage and left fur and blood, and the witness heard a thud as the animal hit the pavement. While slowing, the witness heard a loud roar from the treeline and later heard crashing and growling alongside the road while driving around the lake, feeling chased.

While canoeing down a wooded fork of a river, the group smelled decay and then saw a dark creature watching them from the trees. The creature followed them along the bank, ran ahead to a river bend, splashed and climbed the opposite bank, then later crossed an open clearing. About 20 minutes after the last sighting the group thought they heard shrieks shifting from high to low pitch.

The witness and two companions were night-hiking on railroad tracks beside a swamp when they heard a distant high scream and later a much louder close roar. A very large two-legged silhouette with swinging arms and a massive torso then charged through the swamp water toward them. The group fled back toward their car and saw the figure stop at the swamp edge and not follow onto the tracks.

Six teenagers parked by a blocked trail in Oak Openings late at night to socialize. After a quiet period they heard approaching crunching, loud branch breaking and a massive tree snap, followed by an extremely loud prolonged female-like scream. They all fled on foot back to the car and drove away, too frightened to return.

The witness was squirrel hunting in thick woods when they walked by an animal about ten feet away without noticing it. The animal then ran off bipedally with a striding gait while making a monkey-like screaming sound. The witness spent several hours alone in a hayfield shooting groundhogs while hearing intermittent crashing and twig snaps from adjacent brush. At dusk after standing to retrieve game, the nearby brush erupted with loud crashing and a loud scream, and the witness shouted back reflexively. The witness then walked toward the barn with rifle ready while snapping sounds followed in the brush until fading near the barn.

The witness was bow-hunting deer from a tree stand beside a cut path through pines at dusk. After hearing movement and deep grunts approach, the witness saw a large bipedal figure jump across the path while emitting a loud scream. The figure ran into a wooded area, and a neighbor also heard the screaming and wood-breaking sounds.

The witness was following dogs while hunting raccoons in the woods with a party. A loud scream, loud crashing noises, and an awful smell were encountered. The dogs returned scared to the trucks, with one smelling of skunk.

The larger figure stared at them, gave off a dead-animal smell, stepped toward them, growled and bared its teeth after being pointed out. The group fled toward a residence while hearing branches breaking, prolonged howling and screaming, and trees being beaten.

On a weekend morning the witness and two companions walked down a trail toward the back fields and noticed a strong odor of death and wet dog. The witness saw a small hairy juvenile peeking from behind what proved to be the leg of a very large female standing motionless in a clearing. After he pointed at her she roared, the group fled while hearing screams, howls and chatter around them, and the next morning a large log they played on was found broken.

Four people were coon hunting with hounds on a full-moon night in late fall and were walking out toward the truck when the dogs bolted. The witness, left alone in standing corn, heard a loud scream approaching and was knocked down by a bent-over thing carrying a deer on its shoulder, which dropped the deer and fled. The group found the deer alive but severely injured with a twisted hind leg and broken antlers; a responding game warden shot it and released it to them, and dressing showed a dislocated hip, broken backbone and badly bruised meat.

Late at night two companions were watching TV in a mobile home when they heard a noise at the front. The witness looked through the door window and described a large face peering in that then screamed and pushed away. Both went out the back and watched the figure step over a barbed-wire fence and run away hunched over with very long arms. A next-day search found no tracks, but they measured the door window at seven and a half feet above the ground.
