The witness and a companion were driving in daylight when the vehicle ahead braked suddenly. They reported seeing a large dark hairy creature cross the road and jump over a guardrail with ease. The encounter lasted only a few seconds and the face was not made out.

The witness and their son watched the sunset at an overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway and then got into their car to leave as fog rolled in. As they started to back up, a very dark, man-like figure ran across the road into the woods. The witness described it as too large for a black bear and not an elk, said it disappeared from view, and said they were left intensely frightened.

The witness was riding in a car north of Mt. Gilead around noon when an entity appeared about 200 feet ahead. It crossed the highway in two bounds within five to six seconds and headed toward railroad tracks, disappearing before the car reached the spot. In mid-August 2012 around 1-2 a.m., the witness and a companion were driving on a rural wooded road when headlights illuminated a very large dark bipedal animal moving into the woods. The animal was described as much taller and wider than a tall adult man, with long swinging arms, and disappeared within seconds. Both occupants first thought it could be a bear before concluding it was walking on two legs.

They watched it move on two legs in a sideways manner from one side of the road to the other while looking toward their vehicle, then disappear into a field. The witness and his father were driving back toward their campsite in the national forest in the morning when they saw a large upright figure on and crossing the dirt road. The figure briefly stopped, looked toward them, then stepped off the road and walked downhill into the woods, at one point completely blocking a roadside sign from view. They drove to the spot where it left the road and found the brush undisturbed and no tracks.

The witness and a friend were driving slowly up a gravel mountain road at dusk toward a friend's house. They came around a curve and saw a tall, orange-haired biped standing by the roadside, which then crossed in front of the truck and ran up a steep bank with ease. The witness got out, smelled a foul odor and heard it crashing through brush uphill, and returned the next day to find no trace.

A small brown shaggy creature with a pointed head crossed quickly in front of the car with its arms swinging. The witness braked hard, missed the creature, and woke the companions, initially comparing it to a robed figure.

While riding at night in a car with two companions, the witness reported a tall, hair-covered biped standing in the roadway ahead in the headlights. The figure paused in the middle of the road, turned toward the car, then moved quickly across a ditch and disappeared into the woods within seconds. The witness stated the figure remained upright throughout and did not move like a bear.

The creature crossed the road in two steps, pausing midway to turn and stare at them. The witness estimated it was about seven and a half feet tall with ice-blue eyes. The companion was frightened and would not allow the witness to leave the car to check for footprints.
