The witness was camped alone overnight while doing fieldwork and was awakened by breathing and a large shadow on the tent. The witness struck out three times, on the final time seeing a large hand-like silhouette with opposed thumb. Later pine cones were thrown toward the fire from the dark, and no tracks were found in the morning.
