While hiking alone near sunset, the witness heard steps that stopped when he stopped. After waiting, he continued on an overgrown trail and heard something pacing him about 15 feet away though nothing was visible. The woods went silent, then something close by laughed like a hyena, and it followed him until near the mountaintop.

The witness was working on an irrigation system in a wooded community adjoining national forest when he heard a loud crash and saw a large tree rocking with no visible cause. After waiting and approaching the tree line, the same crash-and-rocking sequence occurred with a second tree and then a third. Feeling watched and frightened, he left the property and rescheduled the work.

The witness and three companions were staying at a rented cabin in remote mountains. In the early morning after two of them got up unable to sleep, they heard grunting nearby followed by a very loud scream and sounds of something running through the woods breaking branches. They then heard whooping sounds off and on for about two hours and reported that the whoops answered when they imitated them. They also reported a foul garbage-like odor.

The witness and a companion were camping overnight in hammocks when a prolonged series of nighttime disturbances began. The witness heard crashing movement, branches breaking, rocks banged together, and a large object thrown through the woods landing nearby. Birds, an owl, and distant dogs vocalized during the sequence, which ended with a long wail, after which the woods went quiet. The pair left the area the next morning.

While serving, the witness was last in a night patrol with night vision on base ranges. A shadowy figure trailed the patrol 20-30 feet behind, moving between trees and peeking out. No one else saw or heard it, and leaders said no opposing force was out.

The witness and the witness's young daughter left their tent at a campground around 1 a.m. to use the restroom after hearing rustling behind the tent. They saw a tall white-furred figure standing beside a pine tree looking at them. They went back into the tent without speaking, confirmed they had seen the same thing, stayed awake, and heard more rustling and distant dogs through the night.

The witness hiked out to a granite face after work and headed back at dusk through dense overgrown trail along a dry creek. Something large and heavy sprinted on all fours from behind him, blurred past, crossed the creek and stopped silently. He felt watched, left quickly, and later jokingly told his wife he ran into a giant wolf.

The witness shot a deer at dusk and dragged it toward his truck after dark. On the trail he saw a widely spaced pair of large eyes at about his own height that stayed after he fired a handgun into the ground, then left to the side through dense brush with loud crashing. He smelled a foul musky odor and found pushed-over vegetation where it left, felt watched while field-dressing the deer, and later found part of the carcass dragged about 300 yards.

The witness stayed two nights at a friend's house on a wooded mountain development. On the first night outside the house he reported paired knocking sounds, stones hitting the roof, and a brief glimpse of gray movement. The next day he found two partial human-like footprints in a steep bank near a trail. On the second night he heard more knocks and howling, then was awakened by loud pounding on the roof and walls that the host also heard.

On a snowy night a friend took a wrong trail, stalled a four-wheeler, and started walking out. Something large moving in the brush without vocalizing blocked going down and flanked the friend, pushing up and to the right. The friend reached a cabin with people and a telephone at the top and called for pickup.

The witness and a friend were driving slowly up a gravel mountain road at dusk toward a friend's house. They came around a curve and saw a tall, orange-haired biped standing by the roadside, which then crossed in front of the truck and ran up a steep bank with ease. The witness got out, smelled a foul odor and heard it crashing through brush uphill, and returned the next day to find no trace.

While walking in the woods near rock piles and a large tree cross, the group took a phone photo that appeared to show two large glowing green balls above a ridge. Moments later a silent low triangle of lights hovered and moved slowly just above the treetops while the group reacted on video.

A gray fog rose from the water and chased the four-wheeler down the trail to the tree line. After retrieving items, the witness rode back through the fog, which followed back to the lake and then settled back over the water.

A relative asked permission to fish in the farm pond built for the grandchildren. While fishing from the bank she saw fog rise from the middle of the lake and drift toward her. Frightened, she left, and the fog followed her down the road to the tree line where it stopped, and she said she would never return.

While walking his dog at night, the witness saw a solid black figure about his own size cross his flashlight beam with no visible features. Shortly after, he saw a person-like shadow cast on his RV that appeared to walk down its side into the woods. He heard no movement sounds.
