Startled hiker sees tall shaggy biped on trail near Leadville
A solo hiker descending a high mountain trail heard a very loud scream-growl vocalization and stopped to scan. He saw a tall, hairy biped about 50 yards away at the forest edge staring at him for several seconds, tilting its head before turning and running fast into the pines out of sight. He then continued down the trail anxiously without photographing it.

The witness and his wife sat on his truck tailgate at a power-line clearing late at night when they heard snorting, brush breaking, and a loud growl/grunt moving up a steep hill toward them. After revving the truck engine the sounds crashed rapidly downhill, and the pair left, seeing deer run across the road as they drove out.

In moonlight they saw a large shape kneeling on the lawn that stood and ran across the lawn, through a puddle, and up a driveway. Two hikers returning up a dry creek bed in late afternoon smelled a strong foul odor and noticed a dead squirrel placed over a boot print. From a short distance away they heard loud banging like wood striking trees, saw treetops swaying, then heard very loud groaning and screaming vocalizations. The sounds paused while they walked away and resumed when they stopped, until they left the area.

The witness was walking alone on an old logging road into the forest when he noticed a dark, robust, hairy being crouched in thick brush watching him. The being paralleled him for 20-25 minutes, then crouched low when approached, producing a strange odor and low growl. After hearing large movement behind him, the witness retreated to the trail and watched the first being stand upright and stare, as a second much larger dark being appeared beside it before he ran home.

The children later encountered large rocks rolling toward them on the hill, and the witness heard a loud prolonged growl, with a horrible unidentified odor lingering after the hillside activity.
