A much larger female then emerged and caught a small rodent, which a huge male rushed out to snatch and eat. After the animals stood and scanned the treeline while sniffing deeply, the witness radioed a bear alert, a helicopter buzzed the area scattering the group, and he returned to the helipad where the pilot said others had reported similar encounters.

A couple stopped at sunset in a pullout beside a stream to eat and fish for the night. The witness heard loud crashing in brush near the truck, faint low growls from across the road, and later loud splashing from a drainage, while the companion reported finding very large, deep footprints in mud by the stream. Neither saw the source of the sounds or tracks, and they left the area feeling something large had stayed hidden nearby.

Two friends camped deep along a river between mountains in winter with no one else around. Around midnight they heard a huge splash as something jumped into deep water and waded across toward them with bipedal splashes. It stopped at the bank in darkness for a long silent period, then circled the camp staying just beyond firelight before leaving up the hillside. They waited until sunrise without sleep and hiked out without checking for tracks.

The witness was deer hunting on a friend's wooded property in Pennsylvania during buck season in 2005. From a ridge he watched a single hairy biped for about 10 to 12 minutes as it broke a small pine tree, investigated the stump, and appeared to eat ants from a rotten stump. The creature sniffed the air, showed no aggression, then walked away apparently unaware of the witness. The witness noted an apparent left arm injury and described the animal as about his own height, thin, and more human-like than expected.

The witness and a companion were camping at an isolated lake over a long weekend. On Saturday morning they began hearing very loud guttural scream-growls that seemed to warn them away from certain areas, including the path to the lake, and the sounds continued into Sunday. Overnight they heard cooking gear clanging and a heavy thump like logs dumped beside their trailer, but in the morning the gear was largely in place and no logs were found, and the companion also reported a strong putrid smell.

The witness and her mother heard a whistle around 2 a.m. and went outside to check. From near their elevated pool deck, they shone a flashlight on an unknown figure with red eyes positioned just above deck level. A group of seven hikers were hiking on a mountain trail in the afternoon. They heard cackling, yelping, growling and moaning sounds and found the trail blocked by a large uprooted stump with placed boulders and smashed trees. Two upright figures, one black and one light brown and hairy, were seen moving parallel to the group and leaping down a cliff, while the group felt stalked and watched as they hurried out to the road.

Later the same day the witnesses returned to the spot and reported crushed grass, long stride impressions, and large and small bare footprints.

Three people parked near a bend in a road to look at the spot of an earlier sighting. They watched a large silhouette leaning against a tree that slowly raised an arm toward its face and later disappeared, while a smaller fur-covered figure was seen walking in the open and then running when approached on foot. The larger figure was also reported to turn its head to watch a passing truck.

The witness was hunting snakes along roads in the evening and stopped to check a spot. Near a tree line opening the witness heard rustling and saw the upper rear portion of a large figure. The figure turned slightly toward the witness, then walked away. The witness also reported a strong musky odor.

On the second night of the expedition, the witness and two companions walked back along a riverside trail talking with lights off. They repeatedly heard loud splashes from across the river that appeared to keep pace with them as they moved. They stopped after each splash to listen but heard no footsteps over the river noise, then returned to camp.

A couple picnicking by a creek at dusk heard a loud howl from downstream with gibberish-like barking between howls, then an answering howl from the ridge behind them. Cattle downstream moved upstream away from the sound. They left at dark, drove downstream toward the first howl location, saw a buck fleeing the creek bottom, and found no people at creek access areas.
