The witness then saw a dark figure on a hill ahead and watched it cross the road in the vehicle headlights. The figure was described as hair-covered and moving with animal-like movements before disappearing into trees. The witness did not look for tracks and drove away quickly.

About a decade before reporting, the witness was riding a horse alone on a dirt road near dusk when the horse stopped and stared into the woods. The witness then saw a tall white upright creature approach quickly and turn sideways before disappearing silently behind small pines. The witness and a companion were camping overnight by a creek in a swampy forest around midnight. They heard footsteps approaching along the creek to within about 30 yards, followed by loud screaming/howl-like vocalizations and sounds of a tree being torn up. The companion stepped a short distance into the woods to speak toward the sounds while the witness stayed by the fire with a shotgun without firing. After a few minutes the sounds and movement stopped and the source left without being seen.

After a tree was heard falling, something very large rushed past the camp breaking saplings, and a snapped tree was later found. Four teenagers walking north from a family hunting camp stopped on a steep two-track when they saw a tall, broad, dark figure standing in the middle of the road at the hilltop staring at them. After watching for about one to two minutes, they turned and ran back to camp without seeing what it did. Poorly defined pushed-in depressions were later noticed in soft gravel and sand in the general area.
