The witness was deer hunting alone from a ground blind in a remote swamp after dark. While packing up noisily, the witness heard a heavy animal running through the woods, passing about 20 yards away. The footfalls sounded rhythmic like a person running, unlike a deer. The witness never saw anything because of darkness and dense woods.
