The witness and a companion were leaving a fishing spot behind a fish hatchery at dusk when the witness heard a crash and saw a tall dark standing figure on the trail they had just used. The companion ran ahead while the witness briefly watched the figure before running to a truck in fear. The figure was described as very tall with broad shoulders and seen only as a silhouette for a few seconds.

Both men then watched a tall, dark-brown, upright creature move quickly through dense brush about thirty feet away. The witness noted the dog's fearful reaction was highly unusual for a dog accustomed to bears and cougars.

The witness reported hearing crashing in a wooded ravine below the house on June 4, 2011 and then seeing a chest-high figure that stared for about a minute before descending out of view. No tracks were recovered because the witness avoided the ravine where the creature was thought to stay.

The witness was working alone at a gas compressor site around 2 a.m. when the headlamp caught reflective eyes in the woods beyond a fence. The source of the eyes stepped from behind a tree to the fence, then turned and walked bipedally into a creek bottom, prompting the witness to retreat to the truck and call the employer. Weak lighting prevented detailed observation, but the witness recalled a tall dark muscular form.

The witness and a companion were clearing branches in a logged area behind the house when they found rock piles and ten small grass bundles containing field mice. The witness went to a remote riverside spot at night with only a dog to start a campfire. The dog began barking intensely toward the river, and the witness then heard multiple large rocks splash into the water. After checking with a flashlight and seeing no source and noting no signs of other people, the witness put the dog in the vehicle and left.

The witness was camping and skipping rocks by a river with a child and dog near sunset. The dog stared across the river and bristled, prompting the witness to look across. The witness saw a large bulky figure at the far bank that rose from a crouch, turned, and walked into brush out of view. The figure was estimated to be about 165 yards away and much larger and wider than a person.

Late at night while hiking with a companion, the witness rested at a picnic table and shone a headlamp toward a hillside. The light revealed three sets of large green eyeshine, one pair of which appeared to rise to about nine feet high. After watching the eyes approach, freeze, and fade away, the pair left the area frightened.

The witness was fishing near a lake dam in the afternoon and noticed a large upright creature standing next to a tree in tall grass, with its head just below branches about 10 feet up. The sighting lasted about a minute; when the witness looked down while walking toward it and then back up, the creature was gone.

The creature approached to close range, stood erect and faced the boat for several seconds, vocalized, then left quietly into mangroves. The sighting lasted about two minutes and was watched by the guide and two clients.

Late at night the witness and a relative went outside to check a heavy thud behind the house. They saw a deer run past, then a very tall hair-covered human-like figure approach from the woods. After a shotgun shot was fired toward the treeline, the figure veered closer, stopped nearby, then moved along the treeline into the woods where it remained visible for several minutes. A strong odor was noticed and large footprints were found the next day.

The witness's spouse spotted the print after the witness had walked over it without noticing. During a nighttime military training exercise at Fort Pickett, the witness on overwatch heard three rapid knocks followed seconds later by a loud branch or small tree breaking. Personnel in a nearby camp also heard the noise and searched the treeline with flashlights before the woods fell silent. The witness reported an uneasy feeling of being watched that night. No visual contact was reported by the witness during these sounds.

A military controller and about 20 soldiers conducting multi-day field training heard unexplained footsteps around their concealed position on several occasions and later heard several loud wood-on-wood knocks from a direction where no troops were located. The unit checked team positions verbally and visually and investigated but found no source. That evening they heard a radio report of a separate sighting elsewhere on the installation.

While camping with two relatives, the witness hiked off-trail and circled back toward the campsite road. Looking back toward an upper trailhead, the witness saw a tall, bulky black figure walking from right to left and quickly out of sight. The witness then moved forward to the spot with the relatives and later compared the figure's size to a relative, estimating it much taller and wider.

The witness was with two companions walking a forest trail back to camp near midnight while using a thermal monocular and making howls and whoops. After hearing four return howls, the witness saw a bright heat signature through the thermal that peeked from behind a tree, disappearing and reappearing on alternating sides for about a minute. A companion also viewed it through the thermal and reacted with surprise. When the companions moved closer, the source grew smaller, moved through thick vegetation from right to left, and disappeared, with the witness discerning only what looked like a head.

The witness was hiking with a dog toward Wallace Lake when both stopped after hearing a loud human-like yell from across a marshy bog. The sound repeated about a minute later from the same forested area about 75 yards away. The witness looked but saw no person or animal. The witness continued hiking without further incident.
