Near Christmas 1980 the witness was riding a snowmobile with a relative on a forest trail at night when they got stuck. Both smelled a strong rotten-meat odor and then the witness saw a fur-covered bipedal figure about six feet tall run across the trail into the bush. The witness found a large bare footprint where it crossed and bipedal steps through deep powder snow. A parent who arrived later saw the remaining marks and told the witness the figure was a sasquatch.

The witness and companions had pulled to the side of a road to sleep in their car late at night. After hearing a slap or thump on the roof, the witness looked out and saw a tall, hair-covered biped running across the road toward the woods, lit by passing headlights. The tracks ran from the creek across sandy soil toward rocky brush and were described as about 17 inches long and 10 inches wide. Shortly after setting out in the afternoon they found two sets of very large footprints in the snow running along the bay. The witness was driving at night with two companions when a large creature crossed the road in front of the vehicle from left to right, visible in the headlights for about six to eight seconds. The driver stopped at the crossing spot but the creature was gone and was not seen again. The witness described a tall greyish figure with very long arms, a thick torso and an apelike forehead that briefly turned its upper body toward the vehicle while walking.

The witness pointed it out to a parent, who glanced toward it and hurried the family inside. The form remained motionless during the several minutes observed, and a next-day check found only muddy water in the about 2-foot-deep ditch.
Possible approach to a camp outside Penticton
The mother, sleeping with family in a tent trailer at a campground, was awake during the night while something was outside. In the morning the family found a cooler that had been tucked under the trailer dragged out, crushed, with food missing. The mother said she had seen its shadow on the tent wall and insisted it was neither a bear nor a man, remaining upset for most of the day.

In 1965 a family of five was driving on the Alaska Highway in the early evening when an upright hairy figure crossed the road directly in front of their pickup near Mile 91. The occupants in both the cab and the camper watched it cross quickly. They later stopped at a cafe where the father made a joking remark about what they had seen. A lingering egg-like smell was also noted in connection with the crossing.
