As they passed, it moved away from the roadside and walked down into a large ditch toward a house. The witnesses described it as about seven feet tall with long, scraggly brown hair and said they could not see its face. They were frightened and did not go back to look for tracks.

Six people were camping together on a ridge between two rivers over Labor Day weekend. Starting early Saturday morning and continuing Saturday night into Sunday morning, they heard series of very loud roar-like vocalizations from a creek bed several hundred yards away. The sounds lasted up to 45 minutes at a time, frightened the group and a dog, and led a camper to ready a pistol. Steep terrain prevented them from investigating for tracks.

The figure crossed both lanes in a few fast strides and was no longer visible when the witness slowed and approached the area. The witness first wondered if it was a person but noted its unusual speed.

The witness was at home in bed when repeating loud whoop-like sounds woke him and seemed to approach the house, getting louder and more frequent.
