Around 12:37 a.m. the witness was driving on Route 8 when a tall dark-furred creature carrying a deer ran into the roadway. The front passenger corner of the car struck the creature, which then slid down the length of the vehicle causing extensive damage from hood to rear. The frightened witness did not stop and continued driving.

Vehicle damage from hood to rear along passenger side, including crushed windshield wipers and broken passenger-side pieces
Smears of dirt and blood left all over the rear window
Possible hair, blood, tissue and DNA from the creature on the car, later surrendered with totaled car and unavailable
Photos of vehicle damage sent to insurance company and unavailable to investigator
An investigator met the witness a year later, attempted to relocate the scene, visited the described location on Route 8, and found no physical evidence.
