Late at night the witness went to check on children sleeping in a bedroom that opens onto a porch against a wooded hillside. A motion light came on and the witness saw a tall, dark, shaggy creature standing on two legs at the window, partly obscured by a blind. The figure stood briefly, then left toward the woods. The next morning the witness found slide marks in mud on the hillside but no clear footprints.

The witness was driving down a mountain road at night after dropping off a companion when headlights illuminated a large hairy figure sitting on a log beside the road. Late at night at a farm home, the witness and a companion looked out the back door after the dogs barked then went quiet. They saw a large hair-covered creature near a mineral feeder that rose onto two legs, looked toward them, then walked upright toward a hay field while swinging its arms. She later learned a family member had been home the whole time and days later saw a large oddly shaped footprint near the roadside.

The witness and her daughter were driving on a remote dirt road about six miles off the main road when they noticed very large barefoot-like footprints in snow. The prints were larger than a size 12 shoe, had a longer second toe, and led up the mountain across a fence, which they did not follow. On follow-up the witness reported finding four prints measuring at least sixteen inches long, noting the maker crossed a four-foot fence without a change in stride.

Late on Thanksgiving night in 2003, the witness was driving home on Route 50 near Burlington after dropping off a friend. She braked to avoid a large black animal crossing the road on all fours. The animal reached the far side, turned to look at her with orange eye reflection in the headlights, and she fled home in distress.

The witness, a wildlife biology student surveying songbird nests in a clear-cut, heard a very loud repetitive whooping from a ridge about 100 yards above for 3 to 4 minutes. The witness scanned with binoculars but saw nothing, then hiked to the ridgetop about 10 minutes later and found it unusually quiet with game trails. The witness later concluded the sound matched an archival whoop recording and was not a known bird.

In late summer 2002 the witness was walking alone on a logged ridge in the early evening and heard a tree fall nearby. Shortly after, the witness saw a very large brown figure lope between trees on the ridge, perceiving only an arm and leg and no head. Days later the witness returned and judged from the tree positions that the figure would have been seven to eight feet tall if human.

On a clear sunny afternoon in August 2002, the witness was commuting to work when a reddish-brown creature with long arms emerged from the woods. The creature crossed the road in about three steps, glanced toward the witness, and continued up the opposite bank. The witness and a relative were delivering newspapers in the early morning when they stopped at a driveway. In the headlights they watched a large, very hairy creature walk across a yard toward the woods for about 30 seconds before it left view. The creature ignored them and walked away casually without looking at them.

In June 2001 the witness's children discovered large footprints in the field behind the family mobile home and photographed them. About a week later the children heard something running across the hillside while playing at the creek, and the family dog chased it and later returned covered in slime. The children later encountered large rocks rolling toward them on the hill, and the witness heard a loud prolonged growl, with a horrible unidentified odor lingering after the hillside activity.

While riding ATVs on private property, the witness group stopped to eat near a creek. The witness noticed several large human-like footprints beside where she sat, including one much larger than a companion's boot. The prints led toward the creek and the stride between them was too long for her to match. No camera was available to document the tracks.

The witness was climbing a steep ridge before dawn with hunting gear when his light revealed three or four sets of yellow eyes about 60 yards ahead. One set rose vertically and maintained eye contact as the group moved off across a hollow without showing deer traits like a white tail or snort. Shortly after, a heavy object landed near him, which he later interpreted as thrown, followed by guttural vocalizations unlike known wildlife and a skunky odor at a suspected bedding area.

Around midday the witness was walking on a forest road north of a campground when they noticed a distant figure about 300 yards away moving the same direction. The figure appeared uniformly dark from head to toe with no visible skin. It suddenly left the road into brush where no trail existed and did not reappear.
