The witness was looking out the living-room window toward the woods from home when a large hairy bipedal figure appeared about 25 feet away. The figure stepped between two trees, stood staring at the witness for several minutes, then turned and walked back into the woods. The witness later told a parent, who suggested a bear, but the witness maintains the figure moved entirely on two feet.

The observation lasted about five seconds under a street light.

The two agreed the figure had two legs and was not a coyote, but they left without investigating because a sick companion needed to get home.

The group drove home quickly and a relative dismissed it as a large dog, which the witness rejected.
