Footprints found in the snow in Red Lake
Large footprints were reported on Feb. 6, 2005 in Red Lake, Minnesota, found along a swamp, near an elementary school, and around homes. The prints were described as about 17 inches long and 6 inches wide with a long stride, with over a hundred found. Woman-like screams were reported from the swamp area while dogs were barking around 2 a.m.

In November 2004 the witness was talking on the phone in the kitchen at night when he saw a large bipedal animal run past the barn. He estimated its height by comparison to a six-foot barn door and described it as dark, furry, and stocky with no obvious neck. He searched the next day but found no tracks because the ground was frozen with no snow.

While grouse hunting on a trail before dusk, the witness noticed a foul odor and a tall hair-covered figure crouched behind a wood pile about 40 yards ahead. The figure stood upright on two legs, looked at the witness, then turned and walked away over a hill into a clearcut. The witness followed to a hilltop to watch it walk through young trees before it disappeared into a swamp.

The witness was deer hunting from an elevated stand in late afternoon when branches began breaking as something approached. A tall, thick, long-haired biped stopped about 30 yards away for several seconds, gave a very loud howl, then rapidly retreated through thick swamp while breaking vegetation and howled again while moving away to the southwest. The frightened witness ran to the car and later said the experience ended his hunting in that area.
