The view lasted about two seconds and was backlit, showing only an outline with a sloping head; the driver did not see it and they did not turn around.

After two does trotted away, they heard a loud deep roar trailing to a squeal and then saw the same deer sprint closely past them. They then heard loud heavy running described as distinctly two-legged along the ridgeline and fled in their vehicle.
