The witness was on the back porch at home around 8 p.m. when a tree-knock-like sound was heard from the woods to the northeast. About five minutes later a low rumble rising into a deep whoop-like sound was heard from the same general area. The witness went inside and turned off the exterior lights. No visual contact was reported.

Two men sat in complete darkness in a forest hotspot talking and playing harmonicas to invite contact while two companions monitored from about 100 yards with a thermal imager. After hearing a stick break and soft knocks, they reported seeing a small red-orange light near the ground that illuminated ferns and silhouetted what looked like a large finger with knuckles moving toward them before fading. They remained on site afterward playing music and talking.

Four people on a dirt-bike trip stopped at a dirt-road intersection and heard knocking like someone hitting a tree. After finding no people or vehicles nearby, one witness knocked on a tree and two or three loud knocks answered within seconds. The witness was camped with two children on a ridgeline near Tarryall Reservoir. On two consecutive nights the witness heard loud deep whooping calls, first from the valley below and then much closer to camp, with wood-on-wood-like banging the first night and coyotes falling silent. On the second night the witness left the tent with a rifle and light and heard something large and heavy crashing through timber with loud footsteps, then stood guard until morning and left early without telling the children.

Through the night they heard return knocks, unidentified howls and loud sigh-like sounds, and a rock landed near one of them when he stepped away from the fire. After the witness made a whoop sound, knocks continued, then a nearby dog barked aggressively and a third position across the road knocked. A family of four driving through Geneva State Park in daylight stopped after noticing a large dark bipedal figure moving through snowy woods. The figure was watched briefly for about ten seconds before disappearing. Shortly after from a nearby parking lot the adults made whoop calls and heard replies described as whoops, a scream or growl, and wood knocks, while also noticing a strong unpleasant odor.

On the way back he found a large medicinal mushroom chunk sitting in the middle of the trail where it had not been. Back at his car alone in foggy darkness he heard a single loud heavy wood knock from back down the trail.

The witness and spouse were walking down a country road about a mile from home in the early morning. They encountered an 8-foot brown-and-gray furry figure that hollered and growled at them. The figure then walked away into the fog, hollering once more, with additional screams and a tree knock heard.

They claim loud tree knocks, howls, grunts, heavy bipedal movement and red glowing eyes, plus a shadowy figure that rose from about five feet to about eight feet tall. Later in a quarry area they reported watching a human-like figure in night-vision goggles that crouched when noticed, followed by a rock thrown nearby, after which they left.
