A large college group camped late at night in a remote, densely wooded rocky area. After midnight they heard large rocks being thrown into and around a nearby stream and loud wailing, howling and grunting sounds that grew closer when the camp was loud and receded when quiet. Later, while in a tent, the witness saw the firelight blocked by a squatting silhouette that touched the zipper with five digits, with felt breath and strong odor, before withdrawing. In the morning the witness noted hairs and deep depressions on the trail.

The witness was sitting outdoors with four companions late at night when a distant loud howl-like sound repeated several times, each lasting about 15 seconds. Shortly after turning a curve, the witness saw a tall brown bipedal animal about 40 yards away that turned and ran very quickly into the woods. A deep grunt-like vocalization was also heard. The witness was camping and was awake in a sleeping bag in the early morning when extremely loud, bellowing two-part vocalizations were heard. One or possibly two warbling or yodeling replies followed from the same direction. A few minutes later two bursts of rifle fire were heard from that direction, and a subsequent search with spotlights up to 2 km north and south found nothing.

In the fall of 1994 the witness walked into the woods behind the home at night with a flashlight and shotgun to scare deer away. He shone the light on a tall, broad, fur-covered figure standing still in brush whose eyes reflected the light. The figure grunted, yelled and moved toward him, the witness fired three times at close range then fled to the house, hearing it run and give a long loud warbling yell.

The witness and companions were in bed at a hunting camp late at night when horses were spooked and something ran through camp while making a strange yell. They thought it was probably a bear at the time. The next morning they found large man-shaped tracks and later used the story to scare visiting relatives.

The witness's car sputtered to a stop on a bridge and the witness set out on foot toward home. From a dark forested slope the witness watched a tall tree thrash, then heard a massive thud, three loud knocks, and rapid footsteps sprinting uphill toward the road. An unseen presence stopped feet away breathing sharply, then repeatedly ran ahead and waited, forcing the witness to pass it several times over an eighth to a quarter mile. Near dawn where cover ended the presence vanished without ever being seen.

The witness and her son were exploring the woods behind their home when they found large footprints described as non-human in sand. The witness reported a sickening odor, grunting sounds from deeper in the woods, and many broken branches. No creature was seen, and the witness said she has avoided the back of the property since.

Two companions were walking at night toward a house when a noise at the treeline drew their attention. One companion fled while the witness briefly watched a huge dark-haired figure step down an embankment into the road about 30 feet away, hearing a grunt and smelling a musky pine odor. Both ran to the house and dogs chased the figure, with sounds of a violent struggle including roaring and shrieks before the dogs returned, one injured and another with blood on its mouth.

For six to eight months an elderly farmer and his wife reported nightly tapping that followed them room to room, shadows outside windows, a barn door torn open, missing dog food and missing outdoor dogs, and a low voice whispering the indoor dog's name. The responding deputy initially suspected neighbors, moonshiners or a grow operation, but later found a large hand-like dent in the house and an 18-inch footprint in the creek that he cast. The cast was later reported to show dermal ridges and to be considered authentic east of the Mississippi.

The witness and his wife spent a weekend camping in 1994 at Laguna Mountain where the campground was empty. At night they heard wolf-like howls and the next day on a desert trail they found crossed dead trees, heard loud animal cries, and watched a distant reddish hair-covered figure standing and slamming backward into a tree, which they first took for a bear. A ranger insisted there were no wolves or bears in the area. On the second night rustling around the tent and sudden overwhelming fear caused them to abandon camp and drive home in the early morning.
