The witness was sitting alone in a deer stand in very dark, rainy conditions before dawn when a musky odor was present. He heard a whistle followed by repeated whooping from different directions, along with slow walking sounds and large branches breaking, which faded after several minutes. He stayed in the stand and noticed the odor was gone after sunrise.

Two brothers were sitting by a campfire in front of their hunting cabin at night when they heard loud screaming and branches breaking about 25-30 yards away in thick woods. After lasting from about 30 seconds to several minutes they retreated to the cabin and their father came outside and also heard the sounds. The source stayed in the woods just outside the cabin floodlights, and deep grunting or breathing was heard after the thrashing stopped.

Three people camping at night heard loud crashing, howling, hooting and screaming sounds circling their camp and then moving up a neighboring hill until gone. The owls they had been calling to fell silent for the rest of the night. The next morning they found large human-like footprints in mud around the camp and broken tree limbs.

The witness was playing with relatives on dirt hills behind the house when feeling watched and seeing a tall hair-covered biped. The figure slowly turned and walked away swinging its arms and was gone within seconds before others could look. The next day the witness found twisted small trees and large footprints at the spot.

While deer hunting alone in a snow-covered valley in 1993, the witness heard a deep repeated belch-like sound approach rapidly to the ridge above him. At dusk the sound stopped and something unseen in the treeline broke branches and moved back and forth for about ten minutes while the witness waited with a rifle. The witness then hiked out to his father, who said he had also heard the distant sound, and the party left for the vehicle.

The witness was exploring woods near the house in the early evening. From a sand pit, the witness watched a large black figure about 50 to 75 yards away for about five minutes as it tore limbs and pushed over rotted trees. Frightened by its size and strength, the witness ran to the parents' house and avoided the woods for six months.
