Man and his children find large barefoot tracks in snow
The witness took his children sledding along a forest service road, towing a sled behind his truck. After noticing droppings in the road, they found a trail of large bare human-like footprints with five toes leading up a bank. The witness compared his booted foot and stride to the prints, noting a much longer step and deeper impressions, then left because it was getting late and later reported the find to the sheriff's office.

In 1977 the witness and his family were camped in the Utah mountains a couple days before hunting season. While scouting with his wife in the afternoon, a reddish-brown creature about 7 to 8 feet tall stepped out about 20 yards away, watched them for about 10 seconds, and was gone when they looked again. That night after snowfall the witness heard something moving around the tent, and the next morning huge tracks were found circling the tent.
Witness reports seeing footprints as a child
As a young child, the witness was helping a relative with weed clearing in a bean field while another relative operated harvesting machinery. They found a line of very large human-like footprints with an unusually long stride leading toward the house and showed them to the other relative. The family contacted authorities, many local people came to view the prints, and the witness recalls being frightened afterward.

Five people fishing in a remote creek area found about half a dozen very large footprints that appeared to be about a week old. The tracks ran from the creek across sandy soil toward rocky brush and were described as about 17 inches long and 10 inches wide. The next morning at a side creek he found vegetation slid down and up where something had crossed, with one large clear footprint in a sandbar, which he photographed with his foot alongside for scale.

They compared its size and depth to the witness's boot, estimated it was less than a day old, but found no other tracks, hair, or sign. The next morning they followed footprints in the snow starting about 75 feet from the home on the west side of the garage toward the swamp. The witness family discovered their very heavy cable-spool picnic table missing from their yard. Along a path bordered by cornfield and forest they found places where the spool had been rolled and carried, along with very large human-like footprints. They later found the spool about a mile away where it had been tossed into a steep gully, and felt children were unlikely to have moved it over rugged terrain.

A family camping at Sunrise Beach heard branch-breaking sounds overnight and the next morning found a very large footprint in a dried creek bed. Shortly after, they saw a large brownish hair-covered creature watching them from behind a tree on a hillside, which then walked away toward the campground road. The father also reported seeing it cross the road ahead while lifting a wire out of its way, and the family quickly left the area.

The witness, accompanied by a relative and a companion, found a very large human-like footprint with additional smeared prints near a pond at the back of a rented farm property during the day. They also found remains of a duck that had been plucked and eaten nearby, felt watched, and noted the area was unusually quiet with frequent strange noises. The witness never saw a creature.

Four deer hunters stopped at a relative's ranch for lunch and fed hogs when horses in a back pasture became highly agitated for about 30 minutes. They found very large, deep tracks circling the pasture with a strong wet-dog and rotten-egg odor still present. They followed the bipedal trackway to a very steep hill where the steps ascended out of reach, tried and failed to replicate the stride and step-up, then left without ever seeing the maker.

She woke her husband, who went outside with a flashlight and found a strong smell and large man-like footprints where frozen food stored under a wash tub had been disturbed. The witness recalls numerous puzzling occurrences from 30-40 years ago on a family farm of about 100 acres with orchards and woods. These included trees reportedly moved to block trails, an elaborate woven arch structure, large human-like footprints with long strides, rocks and a branch thrown near the witness, loud clicking exchanges, and nighttime disturbances around the barn and house. No creature was reportedly seen clearly, and the interpretation as possible Sasquatch activity developed over later years.

On a January 1976 afternoon the witness walked alone to a country club hill to sled. At the top he found bare footprints in snow with clear toe and heel outlines, sunk deep and spaced about three of his strides apart, running north to south into trees. He felt uneasy, sledded once, felt scared and as if watched while leaving, and headed home.
