While standing in front of the truck the witness heard a very loud scream/roar described as gorilla-like but higher pitched, which prompted leaving the area immediately.

The witness was driving with two relatives in the evening looking for moose. A tall, heavily built, dark-haired bipedal figure crossed the road about 50 feet ahead of the car in two strides. The witness and one relative saw it while the other relative did not. The figure turned its head toward the car as it crossed.

The witness concluded it was not a jogger because of its dark coloration in heat, inhuman speed, stride length, and thicker arms.

The witness emphasized folded hands rather than bear paws, a small head with no snout, no visible ears or tail, and speed greater than a bear cub, and questioned whether it could have been a young sasquatch.

Footprints were reportedly found in sand the next day.
