The witness was driving toward Fort Valley on old Highway 96 in the morning. A large dark upright figure emerged from the treeline on one side and ran very fast across the two-lane road into the woods on the other side, covering the road in a few long strides. The witness slowed near the crossing point but the figure was already out of sight, then continued to the store and later drove by the spot four more times without seeing it again.

The witness estimated its height at 7 to 8 feet and said it was not a deer, bear, or human. Two other adults and a baby were in the car but were facing each other and did not see the figure.
