The witness was driving home and turned onto a dirt road when a tall, russet-brown, hair-covered figure crossed the road about 50 feet ahead. It cleared the road in two or three steps and disappeared into pine trees. The sighting occurred about an hour before dark in clear, hot weather.

The witness provided photos of pine duff on the ground and of the deer-trail opening where the figure entered the woods.
