Hunter sees creature through rifle scope
The witness was deer hunting in a thick pine area bordering a swamp in northeastern Pennsylvania in 1993 when he noticed a strong rotten smell. He then watched what he first thought was a large bear walking upright for about 200 yards and viewed it through his rifle scope, concluding it was not a bear. He described it as man-like, about 5'10", wide and stocky with a slight limp, and said he was frightened and ran away once it was out of sight.

Late at night the witness was driving north on Harstine Island and slowed for a turn when headlights and moonlight revealed a huge upright figure in a pasture about 40 feet away. The figure looked at the car, walked parallel along the fence line, stepped over the fence, crossed the road and vanished into brush. The witness drove quickly to a campground shower and did not stay overnight, returning the next day to find the fence pushed down.

The witness was trying to sleep in a van while two companions slept in a tent nearby. The van began rocking violently from side to side until the witness yelled, then the witness shone a flashlight outside and saw a hair-covered figure walking upright past the vehicle into the forest. A foul cesspool-like odor was noticed around the camp, and the companions said pebbles had been tossed onto their tent and something had brushed against it. The group built a fire, discussed what happened, and packed up to leave early.

A group walking back from an old cemetery at night shone lights on a tower and saw a hairy creature standing on top. The creature raised its arms, jumped from the tower and ran into brush with sounds of trees breaking. After a brief silence a loud high-pitched scream was heard and a distinct odor lingered.

On a warm dark night in late summer 1993, five people inside a relative's house saw a large furry head peer through the back-door window for a few seconds before disappearing. After going outside, the witness stepped in a large pile of fresh scat and noticed a strong unpleasant odor. Nothing else was seen or heard that night.

Two companions walking a hillside trail at night heard a loud snap and saw two large bipedal figures silhouetted against city lights. After one companion shouted, a second shorter figure stood up beside the taller slumped figure, and both fled on two legs crashing through small trees. The witnesses estimated the taller figure at 7.5 to 8 feet tall, hid at the fire tower overnight, and noted broken limbs and a sweet unpleasant odor in the area the next morning.

The witness drove to rented pasture to check fences where cattle had been getting out. He found a large tree knocked through the fence with strange hair on the wire, moved the tree and repaired the fence, then found very large fresh footprints in mud near a creek. He heard a grunt near the repair site and later a high-pitched scream from the same direction, found items tossed from his truck bed, then left and did not return.

The witness, part of a two-person wildland fire crew, was descending a steep brushy slope after working a fire when a dropped shovel led him to a rocky ledge with a small cave. He noticed a foul odor at the cave entrance, then saw two rocks thrown from uphill that he concluded the companion could not have thrown. Looking uphill, he watched a dark hairy upright figure moving away through brush for a few seconds before it became still and silent, after which both men left and reported the incident.

The witness and his father were walking to their deer stands before sunrise when they heard something moving parallel to them and smelled a musky odor. Something ahead screamed and howled, and a flashlight revealed eye reflections several feet off the ground. They retreated to the stream and at daylight saw dark fur moving through deadfalls in the distance.

When the witness was eight, she followed her barking dogs from a camper toward a fawn and encountered a tall, smelly, reddish creature. The creature looked at her, stepped over a tall fence while the fawn ran underneath, and did not catch the fawn. She was left in shock and unable to speak, and later drew the figure for her father.

The witness was woken by their mother after she heard a strange noise outside their Burney apartment. The witness waited on the porch and heard a very loud, guttural sequence of chirps and a scream, and noticed a pungent odor worse than skunk. No source was seen during a search, but the next morning a next-door neighbor said someone had been outside her elevated back window overnight.

The witness and a companion heard loud brush movement and limb-breaking sounds at a secluded pond, then smelled a strong unpleasant odor and felt unease. A short time later about a mile away they found a series of five very large footprints in a dried boggy area. They later returned and made a plaster cast and took photos of the prints.

After his stepfather died, the witness returned to the family land in East Texas to look for trees where money and papers had been hidden. Near the area of a childhood sighting he smelled the same strong pungent odor and heard heavy, widely spaced footsteps moving through overgrown brush. He froze and backed away as the steps receded, feeling the impacts and hearing vegetation being broken aside, sensing other watchers but no aggression and feeling the creature remembered him.

The witness was bowhunting in the evening along a creek and field dike when rustling was heard behind. A large bipedal creature came over the dike, descended the near side to close range, paused to look around, then walked away along the creek out of sight. The witness reported a strong musky odor that strengthened on approach and faded as it left, and fled home after hiding crouched on the ground.

The companion was startled at the trailer hitch, dropped a battery and fled, while crashing was heard in the forest and a bad smell was noticed. The next morning the companion said a black form had jumped up and run away fast on two legs.
