Late at night on July 4th while camping behind a relative's house, the witness left the campsite with a flashlight to use the bathroom. About a minute down the trail, a large dark-furred biped crossed the trail about 20 feet away, paused to look at the witness after the witness gasped, then walked away. The witness dropped the flashlight, ran back to camp panicked, and later declined to sleep outside.

Two skateboarders riding ahead of their group heard a high scream then close low grunts off a paved bike trail. One crouched to look and saw a very hairy black bipedal animal crouched about 10 yards away that they had run past. The animal stood to about 6 to 7 feet tall, then ran upright into thick brush swinging its arms, moving very fast and loudly through deadfall before going silent. The pair fled to their companions and a later search of the dead brush found no tracks or sign.

The witness drove to rented pasture to check fences where cattle had been getting out. He found a large tree knocked through the fence with strange hair on the wire, moved the tree and repaired the fence, then found very large fresh footprints in mud near a creek. He heard a grunt near the repair site and later a high-pitched scream from the same direction, found items tossed from his truck bed, then left and did not return.

During an evening hunt the witness and a relative followed the blood trail of a wounded deer. The trail grew faint and straight over obstacles, leading them to infer the deer was being carried. From across a clearing they heard an extremely loud roaring howl, answering growls and whoop-like replies, plus heavy footsteps on a fire lane mistaken for the witness. They never saw the source and later searches found no carcass or sign.

They returned the next day and found odd-looking footprints.

About 20 feet away he saw a hair-covered creature sitting asleep against an oak tree with its hands locked across its knees. The witness states she had just put her crying infant back to bed and was sitting on the side of her waterbed in a dark mobile home when she felt watched and heard a loud guttural grunt/growl. She turned toward a window about nine feet off the ground and saw a huge, reddish-brown hair-covered head with a wide nose and large nostrils staring at her sleeping companion. She froze in fear and was unable to speak for some time before the head disappeared. The next day she and her companion found nothing to stand on beneath the window and no tracks due to leaf cover.

Frightened, the witness ran to the truck and left. The next day the resident said strange sounds had occurred lately and warned against entering the woods alone.

On a summer night in 1990 the witness walked up a field road near his home when he heard a loud whistle followed by screams from nearby ridges. As he fled back toward his house he heard another scream close by and was followed to the creek behind his house, where he heard heavy breathing, growling and bipedal footsteps. He fired a large amount of ammunition toward the sounds without seeing the source, then stayed inside overnight, and the next day found bullet damage to trees and a flattened depression but no blood or tracks.
