The witness and three other agents were on a midnight training patrol near a river in heavy fog. They heard a single very loud splash and then quiet shuffling steps moving upstream in shallow water, with coyotes acting strangely and no visible source. They searched with flashlights, found no entering or exiting tracks, and eventually left the area without an explanation.

The witness was deer hunting alone in the evening while sitting on the ground against a tree. He heard non-hooved footsteps moving in brush behind him, followed by a very loud sustained scream-howl from very close range. In the fall of 1994 the witness walked into the woods behind the home at night with a flashlight and shotgun to scare deer away. He shone the light on a tall, broad, fur-covered figure standing still in brush whose eyes reflected the light. The figure grunted, yelled and moved toward him, the witness fired three times at close range then fled to the house, hearing it run and give a long loud warbling yell.

The witness was riding as a front-seat passenger with two companions driving slowly on a winding park road at night with high beams on. The witness saw a large upright hair-covered being run across the road in front of the car and climb the bank into dense thickets. The driver saw movement but not details, and the occupants heard sounds of it moving upslope through leaf litter before it disappeared.

The witness's car sputtered to a stop on a bridge and the witness set out on foot toward home. From a dark forested slope the witness watched a tall tree thrash, then heard a massive thud, three loud knocks, and rapid footsteps sprinting uphill toward the road. An unseen presence stopped feet away breathing sharply, then repeatedly ran ahead and waited, forcing the witness to pass it several times over an eighth to a quarter mile. Near dawn where cover ended the presence vanished without ever being seen.
Boy scouts see a tall creature walking fluidly while hiking at night
Three camp counselors were walking a trail at night when the narrator saw a tall, dark bipedal figure moving across a slope on the far side of a stream about 50-60 ft away. The figure passed near the group without answering their shouts, and a companion heard a rock-clacking stepping sound as it moved toward the stream ahead of them. The frightened group retreated to trees, waited until about 1 a.m., then continued out armed with sticks, finding no tracks afterward.
Two Fishermen describe a possible bluff charge outside Wellborn
Two people were fishing for catfish in a creek at night when they heard footsteps approaching through dense woods. After they called out, the footsteps paused and then rushed toward them, splitting into two individuals that ran past them through the creek while splashing and breaking limbs. The witnesses reported no visual contact due to darkness and woods and no vocalizations, then fled the area leaving their gear.

Around 3 a.m. the witness claims a large animal walked through the group's camp from dense cover while everyone listened. The witness deliberately stayed quiet to avoid provoking it. Later the campers compared notes and one said he had seen a human-like silhouette at the time they all heard the animal.

Five companions were camping in a ravine and staging a b-b gun war when they heard loud movement approaching through the woods. They shone lights toward the sound and saw very large green glowing eyes, then fled to the highway. From a ditch they looked back and saw an enormous upright outline with arms hanging past its knees before running away.

The witness and two companions drove late at night to a wooded hilltop lookout, spent 15 to 20 minutes on top, then started walking downhill toward the car. While descending they heard heavy footsteps on both sides that kept pace with them and estimated five or six unseen individuals from groupings of footfalls. They shouted warnings, received no verbal response, then ran to the car and drove away without ever seeing the source.

A ranger insisted there were no wolves or bears in the area. On the second night rustling around the tent and sudden overwhelming fear caused them to abandon camp and drive home in the early morning.

After a comment that it was probably a bear, a very loud wail came from the brush, followed by something running downhill on two legs. The group fled to the vehicle and agreed they had heard a sasquatch. The witness returned the next day and found large human-like tracks in mud.
Deer hunter recalls possible early morning encounter near Boone Lake
The witness was deer hunting alone before dawn from a rock above a game trail. A figure approached uphill in a zigzag while making stepping sounds and low grunts and growls, then stopped a few feet away at eye level for about 20 seconds. After the witness coughed and waved, the figure turned and walked away bipedally out of sight and hearing.

The witness was trying to sleep in a van while two companions slept in a tent nearby. The van began rocking violently from side to side until the witness yelled, then the witness shone a flashlight outside and saw a hair-covered figure walking upright past the vehicle into the forest. A foul cesspool-like odor was noticed around the camp, and the companions said pebbles had been tossed onto their tent and something had brushed against it. The group built a fire, discussed what happened, and packed up to leave early.

Three people were fishing quietly from a boat near shore at dusk when they heard a loud scream from the treeline past a point. They then heard branches breaking and heavy bipedal-sounding footsteps moving up a steep bank, followed by a second similar scream. They saw nothing and left quickly for the boat ramp.
Skateboarders have encounter near Fort Stevens
Two skateboarders riding ahead of their group heard a high scream then close low grunts off a paved bike trail. One crouched to look and saw a very hairy black bipedal animal crouched about 10 yards away that they had run past. The animal stood to about 6 to 7 feet tall, then ran upright into thick brush swinging its arms, moving very fast and loudly through deadfall before going silent. The pair fled to their companions and a later search of the dead brush found no tracks or sign.
