Man describes his father's sighting near Lakeland
Late at night the witness stepped onto the porch for a smoke and heard an unfamiliar terrifying vocalization. Shining a light, the witness saw the silhouette of a tall bipedal figure near the pond that stood up and ran off, with vocalizations continuing fainter into the distance. A relative living in the house came outside and heard the final vocalization and a distant gunshot, and another relative later arrived to find the area empty.

For six to eight months an elderly farmer and his wife reported nightly tapping that followed them room to room, shadows outside windows, a barn door torn open, missing dog food and missing outdoor dogs, and a low voice whispering the indoor dog's name. The responding deputy initially suspected neighbors, moonshiners or a grow operation, but later found a large hand-like dent in the house and an 18-inch footprint in the creek that he cast. The cast was later reported to show dermal ridges and to be considered authentic east of the Mississippi.

The witness's brother was driving a tractor home late at night when he noticed two large hair-covered figures walking parallel to the road along a fence line. He described the taller one as about seven to eight feet tall, bulky with long swinging arms, and watched them continue along the timber. The witness's grandfather was collecting ore samples at night when he heard heavy human-like footsteps moving around him in the snow. He then saw a large dark shape about 40 feet away. Frightened, he ran to his three-wheeler and fired a shot toward where the shape had been after it disappeared.

As teenagers, the witness and her boyfriend parked in a dirt cul-de-sac in a wooded park to spend time together. They heard heavy footsteps, snapping twigs and rustling circling them in the dark but could see nothing. When they drove away, the witness looked back and saw a tall, broad, long-armed silhouette step into the light under a street lamp, prompting them to flee. She later heard that a woman's mutilated body was found in the park, after which the park was placed under a nighttime curfew.

Within about a week of the wood knocks, the spouse called the witness home from nearby work after seeing a tall man-like shape outside the kitchen window staring in. When the spouse glanced down and back up, it was gone. A later trail camera set for an intruder captured nothing.

At the Michigan house the family repeatedly heard knocks, whoops and howls. Around 2-3 AM the father saw a large black figure cross the field and road and called the sheriff. After the sheriff fled and returned with military trucks there was heavy automatic gunfire, and the father and son later found large amounts of blood and bullet-riddled trees.

At a remote drop-zone field, the neighbor spent about 72 hours seeing black human-like shadows moving in the wood line. Other soldiers also shouted about seeing something huge running away. At night he heard unexplained shrieks and yowls, and on the last night something large leaned over his tent breathing before walking away.
