Four companions were at a forest picnic camping area late at night and tried wood knocks after noticing eyeshine. Two companions left the vehicle with lights and encountered a very tall hair-covered figure that stepped from behind a tree, looked at them, then walked away slowly. After retreating to the vehicle, the group saw a brown shape crawling toward them and drove away quickly. A companion recorded video of the encounter on a phone.

Two campers at a cabin campsite found a toe-bearing footprint near a creek and noticed broken branches on a nearby trail. The witness, driving a truck near Lookout Pass around 4:30 a.m., reported seeing a reddish-brown haired bipedal figure standing behind a concrete barrier in bright truck headlights. Only the head and both arms above the barrier were visible for about 5 to 10 seconds. The figure then moved rapidly to the left and disappeared.

The witness was driving up Crane Mountain in daylight when a black hair-covered biped was seen moving up a steep embankment beside the road. The creature took large fluid strides uphill, paused to look back at the witness, then continued out of sight as its hair showed a copper-colored sheen in sunlight. The witness then left the area.
Possible Daylight Sighting near Tizer Lakes, reported by snowmobilers
The witness was snowmobiling with two companions to dig out a stuck snowmobile when they rested in a valley meadow. He spotted a very large dark figure standing about 200 yards away behind a sparse grove of trees and called a companion over, and both watched it for over a minute. The figure remained still and faced them before they left, and it was gone when they returned hours later with no tracks or further interaction observed.

The witnesses were camped for several weeks near forest land when on multiple nights they heard something large moving in brush and had rocks thrown at a tent. In daylight they found young trees broken off several feet above the ground near the camp and along the road, which they photographed. Two occupants driving toward Missoula in morning daylight spotted a very tall, uniformly black bipedal figure moving rapidly across an open hillside across the highway and river. The driver watched it with binoculars while the passenger attempted cell-phone photos, observing for about two to two-and-a-half minutes as it crossed right to left then turned uphill with long strides and swinging arms. Both described it as much larger than a person and moving at a running pace despite a relaxed walking gait.
Possible tracks found along hiking trail outside Bozeman
Two people hiking about a mile from a trailhead found two very large human-like footprints with distinct toes in soft ground beside the trail. They could not match the prints with a phone track-identification app and thought they might be Bigfoot, taking photos. An investigator later revisited the location with them but the prints had washed away in heavy rain.

The witness was driving on a private dirt road in the morning when he noticed a black two-legged figure about a quarter-mile away walking across a side road with an unusual sauntering, swinging gait. Near a curve, he saw a tall, dark brown biped standing at the tree line very close to his truck holding a branch. He was frightened and avoided looking directly at it, then drove to the end of the road and descended quickly without seeing it again.

Three witnesses hiking on a ridge trail around noon stopped and watched a large dark object standing motionless beside power poles on a distant ridge for several minutes. The object then turned, took several large steps with visible arm and leg motion, and disappeared over the ridge. The daughter took a phone photo as it disappeared that was described as showing head and shoulders, and later took a comparison photo of the empty ridge.

The witness was hiking with a relative in a thickly forested mountain area and photographed the upstream view of a small creek. That night while reviewing the photos, the witness noticed a large black figure apparently sitting near the creek bank about 45-50 feet away that had not been noticed at the time. A return visit with a relative found nothing at the spot, but freshly broken branches nearby, and comparison photos were taken with a person sitting in the same place for scale.

The witness had left a truck stuck and flooded in overflow water near a lake in late June 2012. When he returned the next morning with friends to tow it out, they found a large, very fresh footprint about 30 feet from the truck. They photographed the print with a hat for scale and speculated it had come down a ravine to look at the truck before stepping over a snowbank into the woods.

The witness and a relative were fishing on the Flathead River on March 31, 2012. While walking to the outhouse, the witness found a very large barefoot print with a partial second print. A tow truck driver was loading a car that had struck an elk late at night when he heard a deep grunt. He shone a light and saw an upright creature dragging the dead elk one-handed by the antlers through deep snow into a drainage. The creature looked at him, continued dragging the elk about 100 feet, and disappeared from view after about 15 seconds.

Early one fall morning the witness opened a door to let dogs out and saw a large hairy biped near the well head a short distance away. The creature turned to face the witness and emitted a loud scream that caused intense fear and crying.
