The witness was deer hunting alone from a power line easement and walking back to the truck when a rock struck his chest. A creature screamed and ran toward him, then appeared at his truck and climbed onto the bed. He shot it with a .22 Magnum above the eye, it fled screaming, and a large rock later struck his truck on a bridge as he drove out.

The next day the witness hiked back alone to where he left his cousin and then up to a marked fence. About 35 yards away on the private side a large hairy figure leaned from behind a tree staring at him. He waved, got no response, cocked his rifle and watched his back trail while returning to camp.

The witness and his cousin had separated a short distance while hunting when an extremely loud yell-scream came from right behind the cousin. The cousin backed toward the witness holding his gun. Neither wanted to return that way, so they bushwhacked down the mountain to camp.

The witness had split from a hunting companion to stalk along a forested ridge on a November morning. He noticed a large, dark-haired bipedal figure emerge below the ridge tip about 83 yards away and step beside a large oak. The two watched each other from behind trees for about three minutes, after which the figure left toward the woods following a loud snap the witness later attributed to an armadillo. He found no tracks on the hard ground.
Creature observed kneeling beside a creek late at night
Late on Halloween night in 1996, the witness was driving over a bridge over Rock Creek after dropping off a relative. By car headlights the witness saw a large, dark, hairy figure squatting at the creek edge with its hands in the water. After a few seconds the figure stood, walked across the shallow creek, climbed the bank with little effort, and went into the trees.
Man has close moonlit encounter
The witness and a companion were parked by a river around midnight under a full moon. The witness stepped a short distance from the car and heard movement in the grass and brush. A tall, broad-shouldered hairy silhouette emerged and faced the witness for several seconds. The witness fled to the car and the pair left the area.

While the witness waited during a hay trade at a rural house, he saw a very hairy shirtless figure lean out from behind the back corner of the house with its head near the eave. His large companion did not see it. They left without mentioning it to the residents.
Large unseen creature intimidates fishermen
The witness and a companion were fishing in the evening when they heard loud breathing and grunting sounds approaching from across the river. Animals and birds were seen moving away from the sounds while branches were seen and heard breaking nearby, followed by a loud splash. Believing the source was upset by their presence, they left the area and the witness reports not returning to fish there.

The witness and relatives were spotlighting for coyotes from a pickup truck at night along a treeline. The light revealed eyeshine and a tall brown-haired biped with white patches on its chest and arm that remained in place for about five minutes. The animal then stepped over a fence into the woods and disappeared.

When the witness was eight, she followed her barking dogs from a camper toward a fawn and encountered a tall, smelly, reddish creature. The creature looked at her, stepped over a tall fence while the fawn ran underneath, and did not catch the fawn. She was left in shock and unable to speak, and later drew the figure for her father.

Late at night the witness and a friend stood in a rural road with dogs while waiting. They both saw a figure standing erect behind a large tree by a melon patch about 50-60 yards away. A deep, resonating growl came from the field that frightened them and the dogs, and they fled. They later heard whistles and howls from the woods for hours before falling asleep near dawn.

A fast-moving grayish bipedal figure described as thick-shouldered like a football player ran across the road in front of the car. The witness arrived before dawn to bowhunt from a tree stand overlooking a creek. After sunrise the surrounding wildlife fell silent, several rocks were thrown toward the stand from behind, followed by loud footsteps, branch breaking, heavy breathing and a musky odor approaching to within a few yards behind the witness. After remaining behind the witness for several minutes and emitting a snarling growl, the unseen presence retreated uphill, after which wildlife sounds resumed and the witness left the area.

In 1987 the witness rode as a passenger in a van with a companion to an airport hangar south of town at night. Through the side window the witness saw a dark hair-covered biped running alongside the van at matching speed, which turned its head to look at the witness. The companion did not see it. The witness refused to leave the van at the hangar and the pair left, returning the next day.

The witness and a companion were standing by a truck behind the childhood home at night, facing the pasture. They saw a tall, dark, upright figure run across the pasture in front of a large tank toward the treeline, appearing to turn to look at them. The sighting lasted a few seconds, after which they went inside and a parent's flashlight check revealed nothing.

Two children catching fireflies approached a large gray figure standing in a field and illuminated it within about 30 feet. They saw a mostly hairless bearded face, brow ridge, cone head, long arms and a squatting two-legged walk. After their light failed the figure moved to the woodline and they walked home.

Three hunters camped in a river bottom over the opening weekend of bow season. Over several days and nights they reported heavy impacts, rustling, a skunk-like odor, red eyeshine, wood knocks, whistles, talk-like mumbling, a whoop-ending vocalization, and bent trees and branch structures. The most intense moment was a predawn episode with a deep guttural roar followed by a scream-like sound near camp. They left early after smelling the odor again near a plum thicket.
Memory told of a possible encounter that ends a camping trip early near Park Hill
While camping with fraternity companions near a river at night, the witness and two companions went to gather firewood near a brush-covered hill. They heard something large moving through dense brush toward them, breaking branches, with heavy bipedal-sounding steps and a musty stagnant-water odor. After retreating to the campfire and later returning with additional group members, the group heard rapid heavy steps approaching and fled in a vehicle, without ever seeing the source.

On a snowy night in winter 1982, the witness was walking home from work along a roadway when they noticed a dark, hair-covered figure in a nearby ravine. The figure, estimated at about five feet tall, appeared to be playing in the snow, scooping and throwing it over its head and rolling around. The witness watched from about 30-35 yards away while continuing to walk until out of sight, then ran away in fear.

As children the witness and his older brother were playing near an old cabin on their grandfather's property overlooking the river. The brother pointed out a large hair-covered figure standing by the water about 100 yards away. When the witness shouted, the figure turned, screamed loudly, and ran quickly along the tree line and disappeared. A neighbor rushed the boys inside, and the grandfather spoke with the neighbor in another language and kept the boys from returning to the river, saying the beings were passing through.
