Three teenagers camping in a field behind a house smelled urine and heard something rushing through nearby woods. They fled toward the house as a tall hairy creature pursued them and later stood over their campfire throwing logs aside. The creature then circled the house and stepped onto the porch during the night before leaving by daylight, with broken branches found the next morning.

Three people driving on a forest road in the early afternoon came around a bend and saw a very large dark bipedal figure about 75 yards ahead walking toward them. On a November 1976 afternoon two young men hunting squirrels walked toward a river when a large hairy biped came up from the river bottom toward them. It stopped about 30 feet away, looked at them, snapped a small dead tree and vocalized. The pair retreated over a ridge and ran, later discussing whether it had been a person in costume.

The witness was backpacking with a companion in the Great Smoky Mountains and left the trail to bushwhack through a shallow creek. The witness found a single large bare footprint with five toes in silty sand and examined it for some time. No other prints or nearby camping spots were noted, and the witness felt familiar bear prints could not explain it.

The witness and a companion were driving on remote backroads at night when small pines moved and a large figure emerged. The creature crossed the road in two steps, pausing midway to turn and stare at them. The witness estimated it was about seven and a half feet tall with ice-blue eyes. The companion was frightened and would not allow the witness to leave the car to check for footprints.

The figure reportedly paused to look at the riders, then left the road in a single long step into adjacent woods. As a teenager cutting through dense swampy woods on a military reservation, the witness noticed the forest go silent and felt watched. He saw a brown, long-haired form that rose to an estimated 8-10 feet and crashed rapidly through thick brush. He remained frozen until normal forest sounds returned, then left and never returned to the area.

Hearing a scuffle, the witness turned and saw a tall fur-covered creature with long arms that looked back while moving around the side of the house.
