The witness and friends drove to a remote gravel road to party at night. After a loud crash from a tree, something bipedal circled them making growling sounds and then gave a loud roar they could feel. It stepped into the spotlight as a massive white figure, climbed a bank in three steps and rushed their truck before they fled, later returning in daylight to find impressions on the bank.
Lifelong hunter hears strange screams in early morning twilight directly under tree stand
The witness was deer hunting from a tree stand before dawn when an extremely loud roar that rose into a piercing scream sounded directly underneath the stand. The witness remained still until daylight, hearing no movement despite very dry leaves, and saw nothing. After daylight the witness found no tracks, spoor, or hair in the area.
Campers report 'Ohio howls' and stalking near Mt. Jackson in George Washington National Forest
Two people camped in a remote, heavily forested area heard prolonged, loud howls from a nearby ridge, along with heavy footsteps and crashing through brush. After briefly walking up the road to listen, they felt the source paced them and then moved closer downhill toward them. They returned to camp, kept the fire built up, and continued hearing sporadic howls and movement until they fell asleep after midnight.
Possible trash snatching (2 witnesses) outside Sherando
The witness and a companion were sleeping in their truck at a forest camp late at night when a large bipedal shape walked past and went to trash bags hung high in a tree. The shape reached up, carried one bag into the woods where tearing and eating sounds were heard, then returned about half an hour later to take a second bag. The pair remained in the truck, then packed up and left to spend the rest of the night elsewhere.

During spring break 1984 the witness was traveling by car through Virginia with family toward Florida. While looking out the window the witness noticed a large upright dark hairy figure walking in woods near the freeway, and a younger brother in the car also saw it while the driver did not. The witness described the figure as about eight feet tall with black hair covering head to toe and a long striding walk.
Man recalls watching a possible late night road crossing from his home outside Fieldale
Around 3 a.m. on a cold clear night during Christmas season, the witness got up for a drink and looked out the back-door window toward a lit road. He watched a tall, hairy, upright figure with long arms climb a steep bank, grip a bridge rail, cross the two-lane road in one stride, and disappear down the opposite bank. The observation lasted about five seconds under a street light.

The witness was riding on a school bus at night after a game when they noticed a tall, hair-covered figure standing in a corn field near a scarecrow. The witness waited in a parked car in an open farm field at dusk while a companion hunted nearby. After the companion returned uneasy to the car, both looked toward a large oak tree ahead. The witness saw two small dark hair-covered figures moving and climbing around the tree; one came down, moved behind the trunk, then peered out and stood upright looking toward the car. Frightened, the pair left immediately and drove home instead of staying overnight.

A teenager staying alone at a remote hunting cabin after companions left and did not return spent nights unsettled by a wet-animal odor and a feeling of being watched. While sleeping outside by a fire pit, the fire died low and a large unseen presence approached, producing deep growls, snot-blowing sounds, stomping that vibrated the ground, and a pair of very high, widely spaced, bright red glowing eyes. The witness remained still praying until morning, when the presence was gone, and later told companions who laughed.

The witness, then a young child, was walking with a small group in a scout camp to look for deer tracks. He felt another presence on a parallel path, heard cracking noises and smelled skunk. He then saw a tall dark manlike silhouette 30-40 feet away watching the group before they moved on.
Daytime sighting on Route 17 near Church View
In 1978 while driving on Route 17 in Virginia, the witness slowed for a dead animal in the road and noticed a strong swampy odor. He glimpsed a dark figure crouching at the woods edge, then watched in the rearview mirror as it entered the roadway in a few long strides, paused in a hunched posture over the carcass, and retreated quickly when another car approached. He was shaken and later wondered if the figure could have been a sasquatch, but states he cannot identify what he saw.

The witness was an MP stationed at Davison Army Airfield from late 1977 to late 1979. While alone on night gate duty he noticed a deer acting alarmed, heard a noise in the dark woods beyond the street light, and saw two red eyes reflecting back at a height well above deer level. He connects the incident to repeated nighttime knocks, loud wood breaks and unfamiliar animal sounds heard around the airfield swamp and south perimeter woods.

The witness swept a light across the road and saw a dark broad figure step into the trail about 10 feet away and stand looking at them. After a couple seconds the witness shouted and ran, while the figure did not approach.

After bedding down in an open three-sided shelter, the witness awoke around midnight to a strong odor and saw a tall hairy bipedal silhouette backlit by the campfire. The figure urinated onto the adjacent occupant's sleeping bag before stepping off the shelter floor and leaving. The group then left the isolated shelter for a more populated campground nearby.

In summer 1973 the witness was driving on Pohick Road with her children in the evening when a tall hair-covered bipedal creature stepped into the road in front of her car. It stopped two to three yards from the hood, turned toward the headlights and stared for a few moments. It then crossed to the shoulder in one stride with a smooth gait and went into the woods.

A couple driving west over Skyline Drive in the morning saw a large hairy biped running toward the road. The driver slowed as the creature crossed about 10 feet in front of the car, continued past the car, then went up a steep embankment into dense foliage and out of sight. The witnesses said it ran on two legs the entire time, never slowed, and ignored them.

In May 1970 the witness and a companion were riding in a Jeep along railroad tracks at night. About 70 to 100 yards ahead, a large bipedal hair-covered creature crossed the tracks in a few steps. The pair stopped, then reversed quickly to leave the area.

The witness was on night guard duty at a Marine camp when a dog walking with them began barking. The witness looked up and saw a tall figure covered in light-brown hair standing nearby that did not move when encouraged to chase it. After the witness chambered a round in a rifle, the figure ran away on two legs and was not seen again.
