The creature briefly steadied itself with a hand on a tree and continued uphill without looking at the witness. Frightened, the witness finished loading quickly and left the area.

While scouting alone on a high ridgetop, he found five large barefoot tracks along a snowdrift that punched through snow that held his own weight. He brought his partner to see them, and the partner became nervous, so they packed up and rode out through the night.

When he raised his empty shotgun toward the sound, a loud long guttural scream echoed through the trees, which companions back at the pond also heard, terrifying the witness who ran to lock himself in the truck.

They reached for their rifles but the figure disappeared within moments. They first suspected a prank by an older relative, but he was at the campfire, and no tracks were found the next morning because the ground was nearly frozen.
