Overnight the group heard heavy slow footsteps outside the tent, and around 4 a.m. noticed a strong foul dirty-animal odor. By morning the tent and tarp were found marked with a strong urine-like smell, and the tarp was left behind.

After fishing back upstream the witness looked back to find the figures and object gone, and a return visit the next day was blocked by flooding.
