They described at least three separate voices calling back and forth and moving closer over about two hours, while dogs cowered and cats hid and other night sounds stopped. They could not identify the sounds as known animals and later felt they resembled whoop recordings attributed to Bigfoot.

Feeling uneasy as darkness approached, he climbed down and left the woods without ever seeing the source.

On a cool afternoon in February 2007, the witness and a companion hiked in the woods to look for clues about strange activity. Late at night at their home, the husband went outside to smoke and heard loud strange vocalizations coming from the creek area and called his wife to listen. Unable to see anything in the darkness, they turned off lights and searched with a flashlight but found nothing, and the sound stopped after she closed a window.

The witness noted an apparent left arm injury and described the animal as about his own height, thin, and more human-like than expected.

A group of seven hikers were hiking on a mountain trail in the afternoon. They heard cackling, yelping, growling and moaning sounds and found the trail blocked by a large uprooted stump with placed boulders and smashed trees. Two upright figures, one black and one light brown and hairy, were seen moving parallel to the group and leaping down a cliff, while the group felt stalked and watched as they hurried out to the road.

On many nights he was awakened after midnight by repeated long moaning sounds and at times heard walking sounds near camp, but a flashlight search revealed nothing. He also reported occasionally hearing wood knocks and bipedal footsteps trailing him along the woodline, with the source staying hidden behind vegetation.

In late September 2005 the witness was camped at Jacob's Hill and sitting by the fire when a loud throaty wailing roar lasting about 5-10 seconds came from timber between meadows. The witness remained in place until daylight and then hiked out.
