The witness was parked by a vehicle at dusk after a day of hunting, waiting for two companions to return. After putting a rifle in the vehicle, the witness heard footsteps and then an extremely loud, deep guttural roar close enough to feel in the chest and fled by vehicle to meet the companions at a local establishment. The companions said they had heard strange noises and felt uneasy all day, and the group left the area that night.

He turned and saw an ape-like biped watching from behind a tree a short distance away, which made a deep vocal sound. Two people tending a brush fire at night heard repeated grunt-like vocals and heavy breathing from the woods behind them for about an hour. The sounds stopped whenever they turned to look and included occasional footsteps and snapping limbs. Around 2 a.m. rocks landed in shallow water near the tent, followed by a voice-like sound, and at dawn the dog stared into the woods while the witness packed to leave. The witness reports never seeing any animal or person.

Late at night at his hillside home, the witness was on the driveway and porch trying to get his two large dogs to go into the woods below. A very loud, powerful yell or holler erupted from close range downhill, which he felt vibrate through his body and which silenced all dogs in the area. His dogs froze with raised hackles staring downhill, then pigs and possible raccoons were heard moving up a valley, followed by distant dogs barking uphill as if something moved away quickly.

A witness and a relative were carrying camping gear to canoes in the afternoon when they heard an extremely loud bellow followed by muffled talking-like sounds. The witness retrieved a shotgun and moved toward a river point while the relative watched from the canoes. The witness heard heavy footsteps and brush movement heading toward the rapids but saw nothing, and found dry crossing rocks with no splashing. He concluded whatever made the sounds must have leapt rock to rock to cross.

The witness slept in his vehicle at a pullout and sat up about 8:30 a.m. to see a large dark figure walking away down the road. He watched it round a bend, then tried to follow with a camera but it was gone. About half an hour later he heard loud yelling from the woods where it had gone.

The relative reported seeing a large hand press the tent wall, and both later reported seeing large upright figures near the truck and treeline, one illuminated by flashlight. After the figures continued circling the camp, the two packed the tent without breaking it down and drove away around 4 a.m.

They could see nothing by flashlight from their vehicle. Shortly after, occupants of a passing car stopped and said a massive hairy figure had just run across the road in front of them.

The witness was camping with his wife and sister-in-law when he was awakened around 3:14 a.m. to accompany his wife to the restroom. While preparing to leave the tent he heard 4 or 5 loud wood-knock-like sounds spaced a few seconds apart, followed by faint voice-like gibberish with grunts. His sister-in-law later confirmed she also heard the knocking sounds.

A couple hiking in the Otter Creek Wilderness became disoriented after several hours. They noticed a large dark silhouette on a ridge about 100 yards away, then heard monkey-like sounds for about 30 seconds and saw a tall thin tree violently shaken. They interpreted the displays as threatening and quickly left the area.

In May/June 2012 around 10:30 p.m. the witness and a relative heard a loud guttural vocalization outside the home. They went to the porch and watched a large dark furry animal low to the ground run on all fours past a neighboring home, triggering motion lights. Coyotes vocalized shortly afterward, and another relative later said the sound had awakened them.

In June 2012 the witness was awakened at home by a relative who reported loud whisper-like sounds around the house. The witness then heard the sounds, described as loud whispering resembling unintelligible foreign language or gibberish. The witness approached to about 30 feet and saw the back of a light beige, clean-haired figure with darker face and hands holding trees, which then struck trees, turned away, and ran off on all fours while whistling continued from across the road. Companions farther away heard the whistles, thuds and thrashing but did not see the figure.

The witness was driving in a truck and stopped upon seeing a large hairy figure standing in a shallow creek. After shutting off the truck to watch, the witness heard a loud deep roar from across the creek but saw nothing there. When looking back, the figure had disappeared.

The witness was hitchhiking and camped for the night in a hammock under a river bridge. During the night he heard unknown noises, a cough/grunt sound, whistles, rocks thrown toward him, and a very loud crash near his hammock. He smelled a skunk-like odor and felt watched as he packed up and left, then continued his trip by bus.

The witness and a companion were camped near Wildell for trout fishing. Around 11 p.m. while eating by the campfire they both heard a very loud, long yell from across the river that started loud, rose higher, and lasted 5 to 6 seconds. They listened for another call but heard nothing more that night.
