The witness was driving to work on a rural road before dawn when headlights illuminated a tall, hair-covered figure walking upright on the roadside. As the vehicle closed to within 50 feet, the figure stepped off the roadway into a ditch and disappeared into the bush. The witness did not stop at the time and reported the encounter afterward.

Two companions deer hunting walked toward their vehicle when they heard a low rumble and splashes at a drinking hole. They then watched an upright grayish-brown creature for about a minute as it lingered and walked over a ridge out of sight. They described it as 7 to 8 feet tall, heavily built with very long arms, and insisted it never dropped to all fours like a bear.

After hearing wood knocks and tree breaks for several minutes, he spotted a tall figure about 200 yards away and viewed it through a rifle scope, describing an 8-foot upright figure with a flat face that smelled the air then ran off on two legs. He climbed down, found a large five-toed human-like track where it had slid, heard whoops from two directions, and left the area.

The witness, a water hauler, reported being outside his truck at a work site in the early morning when he smelled a foul odor and saw a very large bipedal figure in the moonlight. The figure reportedly moved around the truck but stayed out of the work lights. The sighting lasted about 30 seconds and the figure was described as taller than a nearby 6-foot well head with black hair.

The witness was driving down a mountain road at night after dropping off a companion when headlights illuminated a large hairy figure sitting on a log beside the road. The figure stood, leapt into the roadway, and ran across into dense cover while the witness watched. The witness stopped, turned off the vehicle, and listened briefly to heavy crashing footsteps receding into the woods before driving on and noticing a nearby campfire gathering.

The witness was hunting alone on family land in southern Indiana when turkeys behaved strangely and he heard a large animal to his right. Peeking around a large tree he saw an animal he first took for a bear about 10 yards away, but its shoulders were too wide, with a long snout, pointy ears and black eyes. He backed out slowly as it moved toward the turkeys and appeared to stand up on dog-like hind legs before he lost sight of it and ran to a relative's house.

The witness observed the animal standing in a fork through a rifle scope, noting reddish hair, bare facial skin and long arms, before it disappeared as they approached. They found heavy heel impressions and a strong odor at the site and later watched two distant figures moving in trees.

Late at night in October 2004 the witness was riding as a passenger on a southbound highway toward Springfield, Illinois, with a companion driving. At the roadside in the headlight beams they first mistook a crouched figure for dumped trash, then saw it rise upright and step back. They observed it standing fully illuminated for a few seconds as they passed closely, and both occupants exclaimed that it was Bigfoot.

The entity crossed both northbound lanes, the median, and the southbound lanes in two long strides, running upright with its arms at its sides. Two other truck drivers also witnessed the crossing, and the three later met to discuss what they saw.

The witness first thought horse or bear but rejected those due to unnatural gait, thin body, excessive height, long dark brown hair, and small head. The witness slowed and stopped where it entered thick woods and estimated it would stand about 9 feet tall, believing it was a bigfoot.

In early autumn at mid-day the witness was burning damp feed sacks behind a bunkhouse when a flare-up was followed by a startled sound behind him. A professional driver was driving an empty bus eastbound on U.S. Highway 160 near Mancos, between Cortez and Durango, shortly after sunset. About 150 yards ahead, the witness saw a large, entirely dark, muscular figure on two legs dash rapidly across the road from south to north in two to three seconds. When the witness reached the crossing point, thick woods on both sides hid any further trace, and a second driver traveling behind did not see the crossing.

While waiting on a narrow high-elevation trail for other climbers to pass, the witness and four companions watched a hair-covered biped move rapidly across a steep shale bowl toward vegetation. The creature alternated between running upright and moving on all fours over boulders. After about two minutes it disappeared into dense vegetation and was not approached due to climbing conditions.

The figure ran very fast across a pasture, jumped a wide creek, and continued up a hill into woods to the north. The witness watched from about 200 feet away and never saw the face, and never saw the figure again.

The witness was driving north with three companions when the two occupants in the front seat watched a large figure run across the road from right to left and disappear into dense woods and brush. A passenger in the back seat saw the figure only as it entered the brush. The front-seat witnesses described uniform coloration, very big running strides, and a forward-hunched posture, and said it never looked toward them.

The witness was driving east on Highway 138 near Cascade Summit Pass in the early evening. About 50 yards ahead, a large very dark humanoid figure emerged from the woods and crossed the roadway to the south with long, fast strides. It disappeared into the woods before the witness reached the spot and appeared dark from head to foot.
