Later that day the pair camped on a narrow gravel bar and experienced harassment all night until first light. They heard tree knocks, a loud yell, singing, deep chatter, whistles, laughter, a log snapping behind the tents, and multiple rocks thrown from the ridge into the river. They set up lights, stayed armed, ran fire watches, partially broke camp to show intent to leave, then launched the kayaks at daylight as a final rock fell.

Two campers floating and fishing the Lower Buffalo River heard loud monkey-like vocalizations from the bank and later camped on a gravel bar. Through the night they reported repeated wood knocks, yells, chatter, whistles, a tree snap, and cantaloupe-sized rocks landing in the river from the ridge across from camp. They lit the camp, kept fire watch in shifts, and at dawn packed and paddled out after a final rock fell in front of them.

The witness arrived before daylight to deer hunt from a ground blind near a road above a steep slope. From inside the blind he heard coyotes, then hollering, rock-banging or wood-knock sounds, and whoops as something ran up the slope, crossed the road, and stopped in thick brush behind him. He then heard loud raspy breathing and growling and smelled a strong obnoxious odor for about five minutes before the animal ran away along the treeline and the woods went quiet.

The witness and a companion were night fishing for bass around an island. They heard several loud splashes from rocks hitting near the boat and then saw a huge upright figure in shadows on the ridge that growled. The figure tore a large limb from a pine and carried it down toward them as they motored away, and they returned at daylight to examine and measure the limb.

The couple hunted an 80-acre property for years, finding straight-line tracks, a high snapped limb, and hearing knocks and strange ridge noises. A relative saw a tall black bipedal figure walking up the creek. Small objects left on stacked tin were moved and exchanged over several days.

The witness was bass fishing along a lake bank when a commotion in nearby woods drew attention. A large upright apelike creature about seven to eight feet tall emerged, made whoop sounds and a low growl, snapped off a small tree and slapped the ground while staring with flexed muscles. The witness slowly backed away looking down, the animal followed a short distance then turned, paused near a bushy spot, and walked into the woods. The witness rejoined companions who laughed, and has not returned to the area.
Backpackers find long, oval shaped nests, three miles from camp
During a 1983 backpacking trip in wooded hills in Arkansas, the witness and friends found three oval rock-and-leaf structures described as nests, with bark-stripped branches beside two of them, plus a very large scat pile and a pine tree with bark stripped in long strips. They remained in the area two more days hearing unidentified spooky noises but reported seeing no animal.

After moving to a remote wooded property, the family found a very clear large human-like footprint with toes that was photographed with a tape measure. On separate occasions the child experienced a rock thrown past him near a creek, faint whooping, small trees moving together, a high scream-like whoop followed by a tree being pushed over, and the adults heard trees breaking and splashing into a pond. Dogs that normally chase sounds fled back to the house during these events.

A couple set up a tent late at night in a small Arkansas river campground and noticed broken trees, a single large glowing eye by the river, then two large eyes watching from uphill. After going to sleep they were awakened by bipedal footsteps, owl-like calls turning to chatter, pebbles hitting the tent, touches to the tent and truck, and movement around camp. The man blew an air horn, they fled in their truck, later returned in daylight to find large footprints and discovered his phone had recorded sounds through the night.
