The witness and his wife drove a short distance from a relative's home to their trailer to pick up diapers for their baby. At the house they found their penned hounds barking unusually and noticed a strong rancid odor at the back of the house. They collected the diapers and left without further investigation that night. The following evening they heard a television news account of a nearby sighting that also mentioned a rotting-meat smell.

Five women staying overnight at a rural farmhouse heard loud piercing screams approaching from up a hill toward the house. The other occupants screamed, camp leaders said everyone was accounted for, and an unrecognized funky odor was noticed.

The witness was deer hunting from a stand when chirping sounds approached through the woods. A large dark manlike figure stepped into a shooting lane about 30 feet away and looked around. After the witness called out, it stared at him and left in a few strides.

On a moonlit night in summer 1970, the witness was on a road by a cornfield with a companion when a large brownish creature was heard and then seen running across the road, down a ditch, over a fence and into the cornfield. The creature had a foul smell. The witness returned the next day and found large smudged footprints in the road and cornfield.

While fishing from a boat near shore, the witness smelled a strong musky odor for several minutes, then spotted a tall hair-covered figure partly hidden behind a short tree at the treeline. The figure remained still for a couple minutes, then stood, stepped into the open to look at the boat, and walked slowly uphill into denser forest. A companion in the boat also smelled the odor but did not see the figure.

The witness was camping with two companions near a lake in Yosemite. After hearing cracking in brush in the afternoon, they heard a close loud roar rising to a high scream at night and smelled a wet-dog odor. Other campers said something ran past their tent, and the group stayed in the tent until sunrise then left without continuing their trip.
