The witness was walking ahead of her husband toward a fishing spot at a strip pit when a very loud screaming began just behind her. She crouched and covered her ears as the screams repeated, then heard the source run, jump a creek, and crash through brush and small trees on the far side. Her husband, who had been following behind, heard the screams and joined her to watch the vegetation move as the creature left. They left the area without returning for prints after rain washed the site.

He shone the light on a tall, broad, fur-covered figure standing still in brush whose eyes reflected the light. The figure grunted, yelled and moved toward him, the witness fired three times at close range then fled to the house, hearing it run and give a long loud warbling yell.

The witness saw a large upright hair-covered being run across the road in front of the car and climb the bank into dense thickets. The driver saw movement but not details, and the occupants heard sounds of it moving upslope through leaf litter before it disappeared.

The witness's car sputtered to a stop on a bridge and the witness set out on foot toward home. From a dark forested slope the witness watched a tall tree thrash, then heard a massive thud, three loud knocks, and rapid footsteps sprinting uphill toward the road. An unseen presence stopped feet away breathing sharply, then repeatedly ran ahead and waited, forcing the witness to pass it several times over an eighth to a quarter mile. Near dawn where cover ended the presence vanished without ever being seen.

Three camp counselors were walking a trail at night when the narrator saw a tall, dark bipedal figure moving across a slope on the far side of a stream about 50-60 ft away. The figure passed near the group without answering their shouts, and a companion heard a rock-clacking stepping sound as it moved toward the stream ahead of them. The frightened group retreated to trees, waited until about 1 a.m., then continued out armed with sticks, finding no tracks afterward.

The witness and two companions drove late at night to a wooded hilltop lookout, spent 15 to 20 minutes on top, then started walking downhill toward the car. While descending they heard heavy footsteps on both sides that kept pace with them and estimated five or six unseen individuals from groupings of footfalls. They shouted warnings, received no verbal response, then ran to the car and drove away without ever seeing the source.
