He heard rustling and sounds of bipedal footsteps paralleling him and reported seeing a tall shadow behind a tree that vanished under direct light. A large branch landed near him, prompting him to fire a flare gun as a warning, after which something large crashed away through brush sounding like a heavy person running with long strides. He returned to find his companions asleep and did not report the incident until later.

They went inside and later recounted the events to family and an investigator.

The witness retreated to the car, repositioned it, and tried for about an hour to elicit further response, later hearing a growl and movement alongside and then away.

A large dark hair-covered biped emerged from a draw about seventy yards away, walked past at an angle, then turned upslope into brush and out of view. The figure was reportedly visible for about two minutes with travel sounds heard briefly afterward, and the site was revisited the next morning for a height comparison.

After topping a ridge and shutting off the vehicle, the witness saw a tall hairy biped about 30 feet away running away and knocking over a small tree. Two hunters sat in a blind when the woods went quiet and they heard crashing, bipedal footsteps, a loud crash and a deep howl. After waiting until dark, they left and walked toward their boat. When one turned around he saw eye shine several feet off the ground behind them, which then turned away.

In the morning the cooler had been moved, items were strewn, and an oily feel and stale smell were noticed.

The witness returned to companions and left the area, avoiding hunting for about a week.

While standing around a campfire after midnight on a winter backpacking trip, the witness and two friends repeatedly heard loud bipedal steps approach when they looked away. They charged into the woods to confront it. They never saw it but heard it run on two feet, jump off a cliff line, and continue down the valley.
