Hiking couple hears calls and finds footprints near Mt. Adams
In late fall 1997 the witness and her husband were camping in the Mt Adams Wilderness Area when around 4 a.m. they heard a loud strange vocalization from 800 to 1000 meters away. The sound combined roaring, warbling and guttural yodeling with a high-pitched scream element and was repeated four or five times before all went quiet. Neither witness saw an animal.

The witness and the witness's son were driving north at night toward a New Year's party when they noticed a very large brown-covered figure kneeling just off the road with its back to them. They slowed as they passed, questioned what they had seen, but did not stop or turn back that night. They returned the next morning to check the spot but found nothing there.

On a Sunday evening in winter 1996, the witness was driving home from church with at least one other person. They watched a tall, dark, upright figure cross the road and step over a 3.5- to 4-foot barbed-wire fence without breaking stride. The witness identified the figure as a bigfoot.

He turned and saw a tall black figure walking north along the far fence, stopping twice to look toward him before moving on. The witness stopped after noticing large footprints on the side of a road and found over 20 tracks that entered the woods, crossed the road, and continued into the woods. The tracks had five toes, were larger than the witness's size-12 boot, and sank deeper than the witness's boot print. Deer tracks and deer hair were also present around the tracks. The witness left to get a camera and returned to take five Polaroid photos of the tracks.

The witness was in a car in daylight when a large hair-covered creature crossed the road ahead just below a hilltop. The creature was described as moving sideways while crossing. The witness also heard a scream described as unlike anything heard before.

The witness was driving slowly back into a rural subdivision at night in sleet and ice with bright lights on. The witness saw a large hairy mass the size of a large deer on the roadside that stood up, took two steps, dropped to its knuckles and lunged into the woods. A relative riding in the vehicle did not confirm the sighting, and a same-night search with another relative found nothing. After being iced in for three days, the witness returned and found a single footprint, which was stepped in and destroyed.
Truck driver has early morning encounter near Gary, Texas
The witness, a truck driver hauling oil at night, had just locked a lease gate when trailer work lights revealed a tall hair-covered figure stepping from brush. The figure paused to look at the witness, then silently crossed the road into the woods about 30 feet away. The witness fled in the truck and said he had told no one about the encounter before reporting.

The witness had split from a hunting companion to stalk along a forested ridge on a November morning. He noticed a large, dark-haired bipedal figure emerge below the ridge tip about 83 yards away and step beside a large oak. The two watched each other from behind trees for about three minutes, after which the figure left toward the woods following a loud snap the witness later attributed to an armadillo. He found no tracks on the hard ground.

During the November 1996 deer season, the witness was walking back to camp just after dusk when he saw a dark, very large man-like silhouette standing in the trail about 50 yards ahead. After he spoke to it, the figure silently stepped off the trail into dense cover and vanished. He waited, then passed the spot with his rifle ready, and a next-day search found no sign because fresh snow had fallen.

Seconds later he saw a very tall dark figure emerge from the treeline and cross both highway lanes in four strides without pausing, disappearing into pines on the far side. His wife was watching the hawk and did not see the figure. He described its stride, arm swing and forward-bent posture as unusual and said he could not identify what it was.

The witness, hunting with a relative, shot at a bear-like figure about 200 yards away at the far end of a clearing. The creature fell, then stood on two legs and ran off. The witness followed human-like tracks for about half a mile, noted deep impressions and trees broken in line with the tracks, heard low grunting sounds, then left with the relative.

After hearing rocks rolling on the hill behind them, the witness saw a very large figure about 100 feet away that stood up, stared toward them for several seconds, then went down the slope. The witness was alone at a rural residence late at night doing college schoolwork when neighborhood dogs and horses became highly agitated. The witness went outside with a pistol and flashlight and saw a large crouched figure by the pasture fence. The figure stood on two legs and ran bipedally along the fence while the witness tracked it briefly before retreating inside and calling for help. A later search with a relative found only disturbed grass and no footprints.

The witness was waiting alone on a hunting post in a forested area when an elk ran off. Shortly after they heard faint footsteps and saw a tall dark-brown animal partly obscured by bushes, with only one long arm clearly visible. They estimated it was about eight feet tall and described it as fast-moving.

As the truck got closer, the shape turned and walked on two legs into the swampy brush with large quick steps. As the truck passed the spot, a loud scream was heard over the engine noise with the windows closed, and the witness continued driving without stopping.
