The witness was alone at a riverside base camp in the afternoon when she saw two dark, slender bipedal figures walking on the opposite river trail around a bend. When she reached the riverbank moments later they had vanished with no place to hide except a steep vegetated canyon wall. A radio check confirmed the hiking group had not passed anyone, and when group members later stood at the same spot they looked much smaller and bulkier than the figures.

The witness was grading a remote forest road around noon when he spotted a large hairy creature about 200 yards ahead standing by the road and looking at him. After watching for about a minute, the creature crossed the road in three steps and disappeared into the woods. The witness drove to the crossing point and found large human-like footprints and broken branches, left food and water, and found them untouched on his return pass.

The witness was driving slowly along a ridge-line dirt road during a boundary survey at midday when a black figure was spotted among trees. Initially mistaken for a stump and then a bear, the figure was judged too thin and tall to be a bear. As the vehicle closed to close range, the figure sprinted across the road on two legs and disappeared into trees.

A deer hunter sat in a tree stand on a crisp clear morning while noticing a strong foul odor. While walking back along an old logging trail around 10 a.m., the hunter saw a very large upright hairy animal step onto the trail, pause and look, then calmly walk away bipedally. The hunter ran the opposite direction, dropping gear, and later returned to find no tracks but noted a freshly broken branch.

At about 3 a.m. the witness saw a tall hair-covered biped standing beyond the pens, which walked a short distance, stopped, then left into surrounding woods. The witness woke a relative who also saw the animal though less clearly, while the kennel dogs remained silent in their houses.

While working as night watchmen at a logging site, the female witness walked back from checking equipment at dusk and heard a snorkeling sound by the creek. She saw a large fur-covered creature on its knees drinking, which then stood up very tall and stepped over a stump. She ran screaming toward the trailer while the creature also screamed, and her companion heard it screaming and breaking trees as it moved away.

During an overnight fishing trip the witness and his girlfriend were sleeping in a parked vehicle near a cabin when they noticed a tall hair-covered figure standing at the tree line and two smaller crouched figures near a truck. After alerting a companion in the cabin, the witness started the vehicle to shine lights on the figures, which then fled into the trees. A companion reported something running across the road as they drove, and later the group heard commotion near the lake.

A man walking in the woods to shoot his rifle reported smelling rot and then seeing a huge hunkered animal staring at him. After a few seconds of mutual staring, the man walked away and the animal bolted past him on two legs, breaking branches as it ran. The account was relayed secondhand by a friend who said the witness was frightened and stayed out of the woods for months.

Around 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 1, 2000, the reporter and a fellow security officer were standing outside a guarded building talking. The fellow officer reacted and said he saw a tall, all-black, heavily built figure near the tree line that moved out of view around another building. The reporter himself saw nothing, and a search on foot and by vehicle found nothing.

The lead individual was described as a 6.5-foot light-brown male walking hunched, followed about 15 yards behind by a 5.5-foot black female with breasts who appeared to be holding something at her waist. Both were said to walk without locking their knees.

A family reports seeing an unidentified tall biped around their rural home over four years, usually at night. The creature is described as 7 to 9 feet tall, walking upright with a slight hunch and running too fast to follow. Footprints, hair, possible saliva, blood stains, and snapped small trees were also found on the property. Up to nine family members in three houses have seen it when arriving, leaving, or moving between houses.

The witness estimated it at 6-7 feet tall and over 300 pounds, moving very fast in a few steps with arms pumping and a hunched posture. The witness stopped at the crossing point but noted no odor and found no tracks due to hard ground.

The witness and a companion were parked in a truck at a mountain road landing late at night and watched a wild boar rooting in snow. After the boar fled, an upright figure appeared at the tree line, stood over the boar's spot, and was then illuminated by high beams. The figure blocked the light, showed glowing eyes, grunted, crossed the road in three strides, grabbed a sapling and disappeared uphill, leaving a strong odor.

The witness and a companion were at a remote camp in the evening when they heard a loud mule-like wailing scream and then saw a tall hairy creature with a relatively hairless face in a spotlight. The creature showed eye reflection, covered its eyes from the light, braced between two small trees with large hairless-palmed hands, then shambled away. The pair heard movement around camp all night and the next day found freshly twisted tree limbs nearby but no usable tracks due to dry ground.

The witness and a companion were camping overnight in the woods when they heard an unexplained sound and smelled decaying flesh. They heard something moving toward them and fled to a moonlit clearing where they saw a bipedal creature they first called a bear. The witness fired a shotgun into the air without stopping its approach, then both ran through a creek to a store to call for help. In later years they found broken trees and footprints they attributed to the same creature.
