While walking a ridge the witness noticed bent saplings and knocked on a tree, receiving clear wood-knock replies from a steep kettle below. A large living oak branch was then twisted toward the witness and ripped off, falling to the kettle bottom. Returning later with two companions, they found fresh twist damage and hand-like bark rubs with strong odor, then a young companion saw a light-colored bipedal figure and all heard a deep growl.

The witness found a large human-like footprint on a muddy curve and returned with a camera and casting supplies to document it. While making the cast, nearby bushes rustled violently and the top of a small tree snapped off and fell near the road, followed by several whinny-like vocalizations from the woods. Days later the witness believed an outline of a figure appeared in one photo and reported being followed on later visits to check for more prints.

Two companions were hiking a faint trail in late afternoon to scout a fishing spot for the next morning. From a short distance ahead they heard an extremely loud, high-pitched scream that continued without pause for minutes. As they retreated, trees were heard and seen breaking and falling along a nearby ridge as the unseen source moved parallel to them. They never saw the source and left the area without returning.

The witness and his young son went squirrel hunting in a public forest reached through a swamp. On the trail back they heard loud bipedal footsteps, heavy raspy breathing, and a powerful growl from very close range but saw nothing despite sparse cover. The unseen presence paced them for about a hundred yards, then growled again and ran toward them through the swamp as they reached the truck and left.
