The witness was hunting deer behind the house and watched a small bear-like creature through binoculars for many minutes. The creature turned and showed a solid black hairless human-like face before disappearing silently when the witness glanced away after hearing rocks falling behind. The witness did not feel threatened and saw no limbs, focusing on the head.

The witness and a companion were harvesting ginseng when they heard repeated unusual sounds including a low growl and a loud siren-like tone. Over several minutes they heard heavy fast footsteps and watched smaller trees shake violently while catching partial glimpses of a large bipedal creature that kept trees between itself and them. Several trees snapped and fell in the same direction, and rocks were later seen rolling down a nearby point. The pair inspected freshly broken trees before leaving the area the way they came.

Around 1 a.m. the witness got up for water and looked out the kitchen window. About 20 yards into the woods behind the house, three pairs of red glowing eyes moved single file at an estimated 7 feet off the ground. No bodies could be seen in the darkness except moving branches, and the movement was described as smooth, balanced and agile.

A couple riding an ATV over a small hill encountered a tall black creature standing beside the trail behind a narrow tree. The driver first mistook it for a stump, then realized its size as it turned its head toward them. The wife screamed upon seeing it, and they fled rapidly on the ATV without being followed.

While driving home shortly after midnight, the witness encountered a hair-covered biped standing in a forest road and honked at it. The figure ran swiftly uphill along the road and then crashed through elderberry bushes and disappeared downslope. The next day the witness found prints in muddy holes in the road and broken bushes at the exit point.

The witness was alone at a riverside base camp in the afternoon when she saw two dark, slender bipedal figures walking on the opposite river trail around a bend. When she reached the riverbank moments later they had vanished with no place to hide except a steep vegetated canyon wall. A radio check confirmed the hiking group had not passed anyone, and when group members later stood at the same spot they looked much smaller and bulkier than the figures.

The witness reported finding unusually large tracks estimated at 20 inches near a campsite. That night the group heard loud piercing screams in the forest and smelled a strange skunk- and sweat-like odor, and the witness sounded a personal alarm which seemed to drive something away. The next morning they found more tracks near the campsite along with some broken branches.

The witness and a young relative were walking by a lake at night while camping when they heard a commotion. They watched two very large black upright figures and then a third taller one stripping branches and bark from trees for about 15 minutes from about 125 feet away before running back to their camper. The next day the witness returned to find stripped trees and limbs piled at their bases.

The witness was working an overnight security shift at a strip mine when he heard movement in brush behind the trailer. Shining a flashlight, he saw a large bipedal animal squatting behind a thicket that covered its face with huge hands before running away. About half an hour later he heard a chilling scream from inside the locked trailer, and he left the mountain for good that night.

The young witness was tending a fire she built with her father after he went inside briefly. She repeatedly saw a very tall dark furry figure standing at the woods edge watching her, with glowing reddish eyes. She fled to the house in fear, and afterward flattened leaves and a broken branch out of adult reach were found at the spot.
