Campers hear the woods come alive with screams
While camping with relatives in swampy woods, the witness heard prolonged screaming and strange noises through the night that frightened the group. They were unable to leave due to muddy roads and remained in camp until morning. At first light they found small trees snapped over, grass flattened, and what they described as huge footprints.

The next morning they followed footprints in the snow starting about 75 feet from the home on the west side of the garage toward the swamp. The teller and companions camped in a marshy cedar area after being asked to watch for activity. One man bedded down in a canvas pitcher tent and said a large hand reached under and dragged him. They found large human-like tracks and a knee impression behind the tent, then heard distant screams and circling sounds through the night while keeping up a large fire.
Camper hears screams while camping in Kennebunk, Maine
The witness and a companion camped overnight in a tent in scrub pine after returning from a motorcycle rally. Late at night something approached the tent, producing a strong odor, audible movement, breathing and ground vibration, and a loud scream that continued intermittently before leaving. At daylight the witness found large indistinct impressions in grass and broken ferns leading toward a cliff but no clear tracks.

Around 3 a.m. the dogs reacted, floodlights came on, and a huge shadow crossed the wall. The witness peeked out the front picture window and saw a very tall hairy biped that flexed and screamed. It then walked along the fence, ate a wild watermelon, drank from a neighbor's man-made lake, and left toward the swamp. Next morning large footprints were found but were trampled before casting.

While leaving through the woods toward the car they heard loud screeching and something large jumping nearby without being seen. They left quickly in the car, with the witness feeling the source was too big to be people.
